I thought it was too hipster when I was there. The outdoorsy people seemed like the type that would scoff at anything that wasn't top tier brands.

lol, welcome to Colorado in general the last 10~ years. There's a lot of people walking around that look like they fell out of the Patagonia or Columbia catalog.

Grand junction is a weird mix of retired NIMBYs from CA and NY, college students, and blue collar workers.

A poor craftsman blames his tools, and an even poorer craftsman has tools stolen from harbor freight.

Nothing sucks more than trying to find something you need at HF but the last set on the shelf is incomplete

Green grass is nice but not a deal breaker.

ha, yes, that's true., as much as I love to bitch about how expensive it is here I'm much happier than I'd be having a big ranch all alone in BFE.

I got out for a few last week. The weather's been decent down here, but... I guess I'm lazy. And I decided I should use the nice days to re-roof my shed.

The four layers of asphalt shingles over 100-year-old wood shingles were having a tough time in this winter's winds.

I have spent little time in NC but a quick glance at it and seeing it's known for craft beer, arts, and outdoors sounds right

Happy to have it done, not happy to buy OSB at $40/sheet.

I did buy myself another bike as a consolation prize--an old Schwinn Homegrown; I'm pretty sure it's one of the Yeti-made ones, which is cool. Shitbox bikes are much cheaper than shitbox trucks.

I had no idea shitbike culture was so strong but it sure seems to be. I sold that Diamondback Topanga to a dude who was STOKED even though he told me it was gonna start a fight with his gf. I think he said they already had like 12 bikes  definitely sounded like he got bit by the same bug as you
