Just winterized the MC last weekend. Skied from April to October this year and put just shy of 100 hours on the boat so that's hard to complain about.

great year on the boating front. sold my ski nautique for more than it ever should have sold for (thanks covid), and then bought a mastercraft for a surprisingly pre-covid price due to the seller having an "oopsies" baby on the way.

old ski nautique went up to north carolina

    new mastercraft tristar with a 351 V8.
wife wanted to swap the traditional closed bow ski boat for something with bow seating. both boats were in the 19-20 foot range, but the new one is an entire foot wider. a boat this size with a true 8 foot beam makes for a ton room given it's length. being a true ski/wake boat, it'll haul some ass and spin like a jet ski :)

went through the whole boat right after getting it. new fuel and cooling hoses all around. all worm gear hose clamps were swapped for t-bolt clamps. new plugs with a fresh oil change. rebuilt the velvet drive transmission. buffed the hell out of the whole boat, steam cleaned the carpets, installed the wakeboard tower, rewired the entire stereo with a new amp and the addition of tower speakers. installed some seadek on the swim platform. repacked all of the trailer bearings. will replace all 5 tires in the spring.

water is getting a bit colder now, but the season isn't over. water is still about 70 degrees, with air temps in the low 70s.
put about 100 hours on it since bringing it to the coast from georgia in June.

No way! Same color scheme and all! Yours is beautiful. Great boats. Believe it or not, the red nautique I sold was the same year as the TriStar, but the MasterCraft looks a decade newer. Way ahead of their time.

Bought myself a cheap Capri 18 sailboat and am taking her out for the first sail tomorrow. She was super dirty but fairly well taken care of otherwise for a 33 year old boat. I’m still trying to figure out a name so hopefully it’s not bad luck to sail without one.

fortunate to have enjoyed 78 degree blue skies to kick off the new year.
got to break in the new wakeboard my wife got me for Christmas, and even got some new riders up on the wakeboard for their first time.

The 460 in my Eliminator has been tired for a couple seasons now. We pulled it out and it put out 268hp. After months of machining, crazy expensive hot rod parts, and constant supply chain shortages- it'll be ready for the dyno this month. My engine guy says his conservative estimate is "between 600 and 650", naturally aspirated. I'm pretty stoked.

Are you one of those super obnoxious guys that motors way too fast and too close to other boats while spraying a 100' rooster tail and deafening anyone without ear plugs within half a mile?

Please see my response in the updated text above.

But in all seriousness, I have seen people get hurt and have lost a couple friends in accidents on the water. I don't drink until the boat is on the trailer, don't do test and tunes on weekends, my stereo doesn't work, the exhaust is through transom- so it's not even that loud. Well, unless my foot is in it haha
