So I was wondering if someone else has done this but if you dont have fog lamps could you take one of ur inserts and cut a hole in it and make a hidden direct air port?

Not worth it, stock intake already sucks cold air from the fender well, and the "positive" air pressure you would get from the fog light opening would be negligible.

Can my ditch lights be configured into a air intake system?

    I s'pose you could.

Although, I'd think all the bends and corners would create enough pressure loss to negate any perceived gains.

I'd say don't waste your time. The stock CAI from the front passenger fender is as good as it gets.

Useful for when all of us here do a track day at Laguna Seca? I can't fathom going hard and fast enough in a pickup truck to require brake vents.

I'm guessing, but are you thinking of the same basic idea as hot rodders used to do for a dual snorkel air cleaner?

Some owners with Grand Nationals back in the day would pop a headlight out and route the air intake to the now empty headlight spot.

Routing the intake to a fog light is going to pick up dust, water, snow if you get it where you live.

Every 90° bend in a pipe is equivalent to 3' of straight pipe. With an accordion style pipe such as the existing air intake tube, I can only imagine bends would translate into longer pipe than smooth bore pipe

No shit, I saw this on the homepage and came out from under my 3rd gen rock ;)

It's ok though... I remember that little turbo thing they used to sell at auto store, where you put it in your intake and it was marketed to do all kinds drag strip worthy performance. It was like a fan spinner inside the intake that in reality, did nothing lol. Same era as the woo woo exhaust...

Ya live and you learn I guess. Although, I feel the woo woo guy never learned...

OPs truck should be immediately put up for sale and Tacoma ownership revoked forever, for such a silly idea. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

This. I recall the old gearhead method of making a dual snorkel air cleaner, which was somewhat helpful on those vehicles though you did still risk more dirt. Those cars obviously weren't using optimized induction systems like our trucks.
