I have looked before, I think they are around $125 then you have to go to Toyota to get it programmed and the key cut, probably another $125

I assume they get paid by the hour, not by how many packages they deliver don't they?

Tom's key all in with the key cut would be $225 o_O

Just called one local dealer, they said I don't qualify based on manufacture date. I called another dealer, they said only thing I see is you have a recall on your fuel pump :frusty:

That’s crazy but believable when you can’t find half the shit you used to be able to get.

I'd push that up the chain!
Sometimes damn dealers act like it's going to come right out of their pocket.
Or the service person you spoke with, thought he would have to pay for it

At my old job I had some great UPS guys who really cared, as most here probably understand a $10 part can shut down a production line and have 50 people pushing brooms. (and leave maintenance very unpopular with "upstairs")

If they knew I needed something they would text me as soon as they got in town and I would go meet them to get the parts.
The men in brown saved me from being down!:fistbump:

I had over 200 customers numbers in my phone in case something came in that they were waiting on. They would either meet me or I would ride straight out there. I got a lotta nice perks for being flexible and working with the small businesses in my area.

FedEx was the same way during peak. I didn't see alot of the trucks/vans pull in till like 7-9pm. Most would come in around 3-4pm before peak. o_O

I googled 21TD02 and nothing came up.

Put your VIN in here and see if the service campaign pops up.
    https://www.toyota.com/recall

Arm yourself with it (if it does) when you go to your next dealer.

If it doesn’t, call the Toyota Brand Engagement number listed and explain the situation. I used those folks to help get $$ I paid for leaf repairs in my ‘07 before ‘Yota started to pick up the tab. Really helpful people (at the time at least).

    Good Luck!

I put it in there and all that came up was the fuel pump recall. I think the person was correct with mine not falling in the chip shortage dates, I bought it used and it was manufactured 9/19 maybe the person who bought it kept the other one, or lost it. Toyota is supposed to call me back, I think I'm stuck with ordering it myself though.
