Pretty sure they all hate the Taco. Except TFL Truck/OffRoad... those guys benchmark with a TRD Pro quite often.

They go for the latest and greatest. I don't want that. Tried and true for me. If it ain't broke... don't fix it. Lol

The wait is finally over. I am going to be picking up my new ‘22 Lunar Rock DCLB OR Tacoma tomorrow at 4pm. I’ll update pics on the Lunar Rock thread once the truck is parked in my driveway! Here is my timeline:

8/22: Agreed to place $500 deposit without allocation

mid-Nov: allocation that was already set to be built was backed out of by someone else and given to me

    1/21: delivery

I had a 5 month flat wait, but I also got exactly what I wanted with no dealer markup.

I would add to this that the wait time for trucks starts the moment the first 2022 hits the first dealer lot, so really about 2 months would you say? Congratulations!!!!

Just heard back from my dealer and I have my VIN and he provided current Rail info. Truck was built 1/17 not 1/11 then Railhead departure date was next day 1/18 and Railhead Arrival Estimate says 2/1 so getting closer.

I was lucky to pick up a dealer allotment 6 weeks ago. Couldn't make any changes, so its a highly optioned TRD OR blurple. So far I love it.

My dealer said this morning that his allotment was great in dec but has since fallen. Hoping it just shipping issues. Thats across all vehicles. Mine actually came in earlier than he was seeing.

The more I read the comments on here, the more fortunate, I feel. I was able to get my hands on the exact color and configuration I wanted, fortunately. Even though I was able to get the gray exterior, I was open to silver and white as well, as they were both very, very close second choices to the gray that was my first choice. I really had to think about that one for a while, before I settled on gray.

I actually wanted 2WD. Without doubt that made my search a little easier. I just don’t use 4WD enough to justify the added expense and decreased fuel economy. I also own a 2001 4Runner Limited 4X4 and I have needed the 4WD once, in 21 years. I’m not much of an off roader. If I lived in an area with frequent snowfall or if I had an actual need for 4X4, by all means, I would have wanted that feature.

I wanted the TRD Sport package, because I like the fake hood scoop. LOL

My other requirement was the technology package. I’m blind in my right eye. It was a birth defect. For 35 years, I have had to almost break my neck, to check the blind spot, on the passenger side, of every vehicle, I’ve owned. LOL For me, that blind spot monitor really saves the day. That’s especially true, in heavy traffic.

Im very happy with my new Tacoma. I owned a 2007 Tacoma and I regretted getting rid of it very soon after I sold it. This one isn’t going anywhere. It’s here to stay.

@slothstronaut236 what level of options/technology package did you get?
My dealer has told me I can't get a DCLB OR with the lower tech package, only short bed. I want a long bed, just not $5k more in options.

I’m not sure if what he is telling you is true Toyota gospel, but I did get the higher package with leather / heated seats / moon roof / JBL speakers. It has the tech package but not the advanced tech package.

I’m a buy once / cry once type of guy so I kind of splurged after driving my ‘99 Ford Ranger for so long.

Auto Nation Pinellas Park FL just reached out to ask if I wanted a DCSB OR manual, no tech package, as they got an allocation for one. I want DCSB with advanced tech, auto.... so If anyone in the area wants one give them a call, they're MSRP.

TRD OR w/MT, leather seats, moon roof, tech package, premium Entune stereo (because JBL isn’t available on MT), and tonneau cover, requested on 7/26/21, delivered 11/2/21. Not horrible considering it was a manual. Fortunately, the dealership I went to was well above quota for vehicles, so they have a priority from Toyota for preferences.

Looks like you got a build very close, if not identical to mine. You will love the manual. I really love mine. Put deposit down 9/21/20 and took delivery of my 2021 on 12/11/20. 13,400 miles and I get excited every time I approach it to drive it. There is simply no way that I would have taken anything less than what I wanted. Persistence pays.
