    That's usually not for consumption at that time...Pre-cooking for upcoming meals/lunches...It's the best time to grill....Quite late at night. Cold chilly air. I can hear the animals in the woods...Owls...maybe a coyote...Deer...and the cat is sleeping so he's not trying to escape when I go to check the food.
    I also think cold weather makes thicker smoke..
    One time my neighbor came over because he thought my house was on fire. He's since learned I grill at any time any day...
