I had a 2nd Gen Tundra and the gas mileage was terrible. Mine had the 4.6L which is slightly better on fuel than the 5.7L. Some people complain about How the V6 Taco should be much more fuel efficient than it is, well I would tell them to borrow a Tundra for a week or two and compare. I haven’t run the math exactly but my rough estimate tells me I’m saving a couple hundred a month in fuel, even with higher gas prices. I drive about 18k a year.

After suffering through a 2016 3rd gen Tacoma I STRONGLY suggest waiting at least a year or two.

I followed that advice and bought a 2017 Tacoma. The automatic transmission was still shit.

I dont think they released any of the Hybrid Tundra's yet, but it probably will have a significant price increase too.

So does the new Tundra have that engine turns OFF at red light, then turns ON when light turns green thing? If so, wonder if it can turned OFF...and more importantly, if it REMAINS off when you restart the car??

Just saw on some Toyota dealer's website...the will revert back to ON whenever the truck is turned ON. I HATE that, and honestly will never have a car that does that. Until just now, I was considering a new Tundra because I need towing capacity. Oh well....forget the new Tundra now. Does the existing Tundra have the start/stop thing?

They do feature start/stop BUT it is controlled by brake pedal input. It wont shut off unless extra pressure is applied to the pedal when stopped.

I didn't see anything about "extra pressure" required for the shutoff. Where did you get that information?

It has been stated on several online test reviews. The truck will remain running unless the pedal is depressed further once stopped.
