If hose is all I need, I have plenty of that at the shop. Just trying to get all my ducks in a row so I don't hit a snag 3/4 of the way through.

that’s all you need and ultimately since you have the facility that you do you should drop your tank and run all new full length instead of patching or extending existing. you dont have to drop the whole tank just drop the inside ( it hinges at the frame side ) and there is enough to get in there

Yeah, I'll be dropping the tank anyways to box the frame. Just wasn't sure if the tube portion of the neck had to be messed with at all or if it was just hose.

personally i like to chop the metal tubes short and use flexible hose the whole way just because you have more ( literal ) flexibility for getting it as high and forward as possible. I had some left over dei titanium exhaust wrap so i wrapped them into one bundle for a little protection from rocks etc

My ultimate goal is to make some fender liners out of ABS or something. Between snow and mud things get packed up quick. So that would add enough protection if I went mostly rubber. Guess I will have to see how things look when everything is in place.

cut it closer to the tank, that way what's hanging in the fender is metal. the breather and return are less critical and had to be lengthened the most.

I had the same disaster, so much mud in my headlights/fuse area began to create a problem/challenge cleaning. I am getting my Fend-X liners in the mail next week so I will report back

Pretty sure that when you cycle your suspension to full articulation in the rear ( assuming 35’s ) you are going to find that the tire will occupy a whole lot more real estate than you think. In the rear your inner fenders you want to build will just be a couple of skirts not a full liner. If I left my OE filler neck metal portion in tact my tire would dry hump it like a 12 year old that just discovered PornHub, I had to chop it short to be able to tuck the hoses away from the tire.

When cutting the link tubes, my gut tells me to leave half the heim threaded in (little more since it would be weak at the end of the threads of course) and cut to my measurements for an ideal set up so that I can get equal adjustment in and out if need be. Any reason not to do that? Not trying to buy more DOM and do this right once haha

Honestly, I’m on 37’s and kind of anticipating a little tub work on the bed. Guess I’ll have to get it all together before I get too far ahead of myself.

I was asking in the past about the minimum thread engagement for heims and it depends on the heim. Should say on the spec page. IIRC the ones on my steering say 75% engagement.

Good to know, I will check that out. Definitely getting some PVC with the same ID to mock up. Thanks!

Figure out what the minimum insertion is and then calculate based upon 1/2 the remaining available threads. I would tack weld the tube nuts into your tubing and cycle. I wouldn't burn them in until you know your setup works. If you sacrifice a long tube you can always recycle it into a shorter tube for a spare.

You won’t find PVC with a matching ID. What I did was cut two slits on each end of the tube, wrapped my heim bung in electrical tape, slid them in and hose clamped the PVC. You will be able to figure everything out doing that. Personally, I set my stuff up with my heims threaded in entirely and no jam nut.

What are some generic, good and squishy rubber bumps for the rear? I liked the super bumps from my old set up, but curious if there’s anything else out there. Looking at some generic bumps for a 1500
