Steel toe boots just seem to bulge out much more; the lighter weight of the carbon fiber toe is just the cherry on top.

    Stuff. Also things.
Looks like it. Can’t go wrong with Lowa if you can get over the price.

    This ^^^

Steel toes have always made my feet fucking cold in the winter, but carbon doesn’t, despite the same benefits in terms of protection.

0121221616.jpg Got lucky at the local little store and found two 80 series hot wheels. One is a manufacturing defect, has no plastic windows. I think I'll paint one red to match mine haha.

Take it from someone who regularly deals with heavy equipment. Composite toes are WAY better than steel.

When something heavier than the rated protection falls on your foot, neither one will actually save your toes. However the composite will crush and only flatten your toes while the steel will buckle in and severe the toes clean off.

Doctors can rebuild your feet much easier when the toes are still attached vs trying to reattach toes that have been cut clean off.

Had a coworker drop a 72" bucket blade on his foot at the Bobcat shop I worked at years ago, he wore steel toes and had ALL of them cut off his foot when the shoe failed. Doctors were only able to save and reattach his big toe

Both will just result in toe mush if the object is heavy enough.

That's fair. I only have that one real world experience with steel toes failing and it removed his toes first, then crushed them:laughing:

An old hockey teammate of mine cut off his thumb with an ax as a kid and surgeons removed his big toe to sew on in it's place. Thought that was pretty wild, apparently it's common if you lose a thumb

I had an ax split a log and go between my big toe and the one next to it a couple years ago. I don’t know for sure how my foot got that close to it.

    alcohol may have been involved
