fuse rating question

    Finishing up my Bussmann RFRM and I'm wondering what fuse to use for powering the relay (pin 30). I'm guessing 5A for the control side of the relay (to pin 86 on the relay).

    Here is a fog light diagram I made. The 15A fuse is the same rating as factory as I'm using factory fog lights.

    Fuses protect wires. That is how you pick the fuse rating.

    1. Pick the wire size that you need to handle the amps
    2. Look at if the voltage drop for the distance is acceptable to your device for that size wire

    Any wire you run should have a fuse upstream based on the smallest size wire, not the actual current your device consumes. Follow that, your lights will work and your truck won’t burn down from a short.

    1A is more than enough for the coil side of the relay...
