    It's an Amplifier. Looks like it comes with a harness, so it plugs right into the back of the head unit and provides roughly 50 watts to each speaker. You run some test tones during setup and the attached microphone adjusts the dsp so your music sounds better than it would with a non dsp amp. Much cheaper than high end JL or Audiocontrol dsp amps and you don't have to spend the cash to upgrade your factory radio.

    These retail about $270 currently. I'm seriously considering going this route with some cheap speakers.
