Ive been worried for a while with the other threads circulating around on here. Thought I might be one of the lucky ones since my truck didn’t show any signs of it going at all. No bubbling, no flake, paint seemed solid. Then bam. Interior and exterior of my truck has been meticulously and religiously cleaned and maintained since I bought it. I don’t feel comfortable sanding, painting and trying to blend exterior paint. The possibility of it doing it again in a different location and having to go through the entire process again is why I’m leaning towards capping it off with vinyl. Fingers crossed yours holds up.

    For 13k though?

For another 5k you can 4x4 swap it when right now you can't touch a 4x4 truck for less than 25k.

    :notsure:

Plus I've been extremely impressed by what some 2WD guys with a locker can do off-road.

I think it was @pdaddy whom I said to once "hey man I don't think your 4WD is locked in your front tires weren't spinning and it looked like you were struggling over that obstacle and he said well it would be weird if they were spinning because my truck is 2WD.

Then I considered all the stuff we had been through that day and was rather impressed he did it all in 2WD just had a locker and a winch.

It’s definitely not a bad deal regardless but my 2012 4x4 has half the miles anyway. Was looking for wheels and stumbled on that post

Finished up the wiring for the cruise control today. Being both a base model and manual that was not prewired took a little longer, but man is it nice to turn it on and set it when cruising the highway!

That's like looking at the front of an ambulance. Generally the lettering is done so you'll be able to read it in your rear view mirror. Some people need bigger hints than flashing strobe lights.

Stayed up to 1:30 AM, so technically today and continued converting the dash harness I have.
ECM connectors are done, I just need to add five wires (park, reverse, neutral, 2nd, and low).
I could then add the wires for cruise, inverter, and navigation (camera, microphone, steering wheel controls).

Had a dream about off-roading last night where somebody made fun of my snorkel and the first obstacle was a deep water hole.

Agree 100%. Got my girl brand new October 25, 2005.

ZERO ISSUES ever since, specially head gasket related.

Today I installed a magnaflow straight through muffler and made up a new 2.5" tailpiece to fit.

It sounds so good. I have tried out quite a few different mufflers and this one is by far favorite. A good rumble at idle, not very loud in the cab, but loud enough to hear the deepness. It has a awesome tone when you give it the beans. A light drone at about 70 mph.
