A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
I've owned an 89 manual and a 07 manual.. my wife was lucky enough to score a 21 4runner pro in lunar rock.. I just got a positive vin on an automatic in the Electric Lime I get it around mid Feb. I'm 45 and never owned an automatic I took the automaticbecause it was msrp no markup.. so that was the set up..

We live in Colorado and I'm curious. Does a modern tacoma manual drive great on snow and ice? My g2 is a nightmare. It's early 07 so no traction control at all. I just gear her down till she is shughin like 1.7 rpm or lower.

Her truck, even with Traction control off tells the abs to fix the spin.

We live in the country. And nothing is more fun then my 07 sport with 7 inches of snow. Can one make a 2022 lime green go sideways? Or will it drive like her automatic sister. I'm not talking getting out of a ditch in 4x4 with crawl or Atrac.. I'm talking doing bodies in the ski lot after an epic day.. does the Manual just shut you down like her automatic, even with Traction control off? God damn that stuff. Can you truly shut it off?

I love how stupid this old truck will let me drive it, but I also love how well her truck does when We need it to. Trust me, when it's nasty out 20214runner NOT the kick ass 07 hornet chaser

But if the abs and Traction control take away "driving" all I'm going to do is shift

Anyone here ever own a g2 or g1 then a g3 manual in snow? I'd love your take on it

Obviously fact taken, you shouldn't be misspelling or doing bordees at 45..

I don't mind not having push button start considering I was able to get a fully loaded truck with a manual transmission at a time when most manufacturers only offer a stick on a stripped base model, if at all. I have no issues with the transmission, but the clutch is damn near impossible to master if you're looking for smooth shifts. Been driving all sorts of MT vehicles over the years and this makes me feel like a noob every time I drive it. Can't wait to get my accumulator hacked up to get some predictable clutch behavior.

On my 2017 MT it does a great job in the snow, BUT with the Factory Goodyear Kevlar's I had a really strange issue with slushy snow as it would activate the Stability Control and make the truck feel very unstable. I replaced the original tires with Falken Wildpeaks and its night and day better and the truck has never repeated that, many others on here have no issues at all with the Factory Tires but my truck just didn't agree with them.

This is going to sound super ridiculous. But both those boys can already drive my old 07 manual.. and I mean they can back it up and hitch a trailer..

The youngest holding the riffle.. is terrified that he will never own a "mamual" transmission..

So I either keep this old sport, put a locker and lift it. Or roll the automatic and crush his soul... parenting sucks when kids fight over Manual vs auto transmission..

What will happen to my family when my sons rolls home with some girl in an EV tacoma in 10 years?

I thought all manual drivers used the handbrake and put it in gear when parked. I do on my 4th gen Camaro. Owners manual states to leave it in reverse to avoid excess battery drain. Same with the c5/c6 corvettes. I wonder if the Tacoma's are the same?

You are absolutely correct. Tacoma numbers for manuals are probably based off of a blend of Dino and driver. But those drivers are NOT life long manual drivers. And, because of epa reports they probably have to have the same rpm at each "checkpoint" thru the test.. or it wouldn't be a test.

What manual vs automatic can't show you is driving.. I see a red light and roll, my wifes 4runner grinds threw all sad 5 gears.. my 07 4.0 manual with my driving beats her 4.0 auto

I usually stick my vehicles in first gear with the handbrake on when parked.
