Yeah, I think there are 3 headlight options and it confusing. SR5 comes with halogens. OR and sport have a basic LED headlight and the Limited and pros have the upgraded LED headlight.

The limited/pro version are by far the nicest. I wish it came on the ORs. You can see the difference in the pictures in this thread.

Funny, it wasn't on my accessory list. I think it might be too late for me anyway.

Yet, only one of those options will melt snow on their own.

I know it's not really a concern for many across the county, but, if you live somewhere where it snows, I wouldn't bother with LEDs at this time till Toyota offers something to combat your headlights freezing over in the snow. I don't like the idea of trying to find somewhere safe to pull over to try to scrape ice off a plastic headlight lens. Again, not a concern for all, but I think I will stick with what works for now till it can be made to work well in all weather. It's a shame too because some of those options look fantastic. And I love how bright they are in general.

Two winters with a 4Runnner and one with the Tacoma. No issues yet.

I agree they don't melt but, depending where you live, the icy wet snow that accumulates doesn't come often. Most of the times in those I've found traditional headlights didn't melt fast enough to keep the lights either.

Just my experience. The brightness and clarity 99% of the time outweigh some ice every now and then.

I agree, drove my tundra 4 hours in a blizzard here in the north east of Canada and the lights were fine. My 2005 Tacoma with halogen will ice up about the same as my tundra and the LED lights in the tundra are so far superior I’d choose them every time!

I’ve had halogen lights ice up in very bad storms in the past, but usually if the roads are that bad I stay home, or at least off the highways.

That's good to hear. It seems like from what I have read, that the problem is more widespread than I might think from the posts that I have read here. I am looking to put a deposit on a new OR possibly today. This might open up a few more options as many Tacomas that are landing here in WA seem to have LED lights. Now.. for color. I think I'm 50/50 on Black and Lunar Rock. I think they both look great at opposite ends of the spectrum. I love looking at the LR pics in this thread.

Most of my vehicles I've owned were black. I really wanted black but I ended up settling with lunar rock after the dealer got ahold of the allocation for me. I thought about it for a little while and compared pictures of lunar rock and black tacomas. I'm so glad I went with lunar rock. It's even better in person. It's pretty unique looking and it looks great on these trucks. Side by side with a black tacoma the lunar rock just looks a little better in my opinion. Black requires more maintenance too. This is coming from someone who loves glossy black paint.

As good as LR looks in a photo, it's even better in person, like you say.

I've already managed to get a few light 'desert pinstripes' in several months of ownership. (It's an OR, after all, there's no Pavement Princess trim.) Barely shows in LR, but they would be much more obvious with a dark color.

Holy hell. Those look great. I've seen the LED headlights but that DRL is in white. What setting makes them amber? Sorry for the ignorance. I bought the LED headlights for my build so I'm trying to see what to expect. Thanks!

    Nice. Congrats on the truck.

I replaced my 2008 Ranger with my Tacoma as well.

I love my new Tacoma, but I am going to miss that ole Ranger. It was such a great truck for me - and comparatively, the Tacoma feels like a full size truck right now! Haha.

Mine actually ended up out at the acreage so its still around. My father in law uses it to take garbage to the dump mostly. I still drive it now and then. I love that little truck.

I’m handing mine off to a close family friend to give to his son as a first car. It ain’t as pretty as it once was, but it is mechanically sound and will be a great first rig for him.

Mine is mechanically sound but not structurally. Ha. I left it in my name because you'd never pass inspection if you tried to register it again.

It was either donate it or crush it. It will die out at that acreage. I mounted the Wranglers that came on the Tacoma on it.
