Hammered the retainer thingies back on each side. Coaxed it into position with my feet while raising it up.

Probably going to take the exhaust off and chop it because I'm not crazy about how close it is still.

I’ve got to get my new spare under there, was thinking about chopping them off but maybe I’ll just smack them with a hammer. I’ve already chopped the exhaust as I don’t like seeing the tailpipe on one side (ocd) lol

I thought about cutting them off but if you take it slow it'll nestle in and they'll still do their job. You can also kind of use them to keep it away from the tailpipe b/c you can smack the driver side farther back. I just used a little three and a half pound sledge. Worked like a treat.

Ironman 4x4 has some pretty good prices I’ve seen them in person, they seem sturdy:

NAPA has an AMAZINGLY priced one but I don’t have any info as to the quality:

I’ve had my broken OEM windshield replaced with aftermarket; the new one did have the same mount.

Do you have a shopping list for what you did there? I’d really like to run my matching spare.

Honestly just an old kryptonite cable & U lock I had from my cycling days. Wrapped it through the frame cross member and threaded it through the wheel spokes to keep the lock tucked up inside the wheel.

Nah, you can be like me: “That asshole who is parked too far forward and taking up 16” of the front opposing parking space”
I should invent a little laser projector for the front of my truck that puts the words “compact only” upside down on the ground in front of me when I’m parked.

Thank you for the update! ….. I think this is exactly why the fit guide on their website said 17” fit but not 16”.

Got my new license plate light bulbs and reverse light bulbs installed. Haven't had a chance to snap pics, but holy crap these XPR reverse light bulbs from @Diode Dynamics are insanely bright. I highly recommend them. Could not be happier with the results.

It needs to be sharp and pointy so it penetrates rather than tries to stop whatever hit you.
