There’s not one under the passenger side Dash? I could see the harness and wiring someone was talking about?

Ugh.. I just spoke to Toyota again about their courtesy cars and the other person told me they had winter tires on but they don’t even have winter tires! This wouldn’t be such a big issue if I could just get the truck in and get a courtesy car so I can make it to work. It is currently snowing and -13°C and supposed to snow for the next four days at least. What a nightmare!

Here is an update after having an horrendous drive home where we had a blizzard storm I drove through at 1:30 with a frozen windshield and almost running out of the washer fluid keeping my field of view open (but then freezing again and again).

I drove it straight to Toyota today. The mechanic said he thinks water got in through the windshield vents into the air cabin filter and froze the blower motor. Because my truck is never indoors or under cover and is exposed to extremely cold high winds, it never unfroze. So every time I turned on my truck it tried to run but couldn’t and would blow the fuse. After my truck was warmed up indoors for hours while I waited and the fuse I have been replacing repeatedly, (the mechanic took me to the back and confirmed I was in fact replacing the correct fuses and was actually quite impressed with all the work I have done up until then with the help of you!) he replaced the same goddamn 10 A fuse and everything now works!

He did caution that if this happens again there could be a chance it is connected to the BSM system and I might have to look into that next time. He did not actually look at or confirm that the blower motor was frozen it was just his assumption.
Thanks soooo much Caribe Makaira for all of you help! If your ever have an animal vet question I’m your person!

That is kinda odd about the frozen blower, it would trip the 50A in the engine room relay/fuse box. The 10A is the coil of the relay (part that makes it close and open). About the heat getting things working does make a bit sense. Time for a covered garage with heat for the Taco...

Well I hope that’s it and it’s not the BSM system cause that’s expensive:(

time will tell! Hopefully not tomorrow but I’m sure I’ll be back for something related to this..

so I’m back to square one! I am fairly convinced it’s the Blindspot monitoring system like you have suggested. I am prepared to check out the pigtails etc. on my own but I cannot find a manual on how to access them. I can see them through my rear tailgate so I could take that off or do I need to remove the bumper?

No need to remove the bumper. Just the plastic covers.

Where are you getting these service manual images from? I have searched a few forums for the service manual and only get one that has electrical information/troubleshooting ‍♀️

Do you know what else is going to make sense? In the area I live in we were under flood evaluation alerts for weeks and I was forced to drive through kilometres of high water. At one point I had rooster tails higher than my driver and passenger side windows. So I am sure all of that wiring got soaked more than a few times.
