Seems like that crazy dealer markup has been goin on since covid started due to shortages. I wouldn't buy anything right now, good time to sell not buy.

 

My personal experience, koons has never treated me right nor had any interest in pretending to treat me right. I drove out of state (hanover, pa) to get my Taco...

I'm sure there are folks who would say the opposite though.

Yea, I love my ‘20 Sport, don’t get me wrong… but I really wanted a Limited with that two toned brown interior and sunroof. They offered me $39k for my truck with 10k miles as a trade. And I told them I was taking all my mods and gear off before hand and making it as stock as possible. They were totally cool with that. But once we sat and started talking numbers, I just couldn’t understand why they kept coming back so high… F-ING dealer price inflation! Complete slap in the face to any potential customers… I can’t believe Toy would allow this. Wife wants a new T4R… I believe we are going to table that idea for a couple years. I’ll be dammed if I’m going to pay that BS!

Oh, I definitely feel the same way about Koons! I have never bought a vehicle there, but I have felt with their parts/service department on a few occasions and they are ridiculous with some of the things they have said and done. I would never buy anything from them, but I do use them as a starting point only bc of the convenience of the 5min ride to them.

Completely agree as well… this is definitely a sellers market and has been for couple years now. My neighbors house directly across from us just sold for almost 2x what we paid for ours when we moved in 7 years ago. And our lot is about .5 acre larger and we have probably double their square footage. I’d sell in a heart beat right now, if it weren’t only for the fact I’d pay some ridiculous price somewhere else. Lake Gaston has been calling my name for quite some time now

 

Same deal about their service center. Kids car had sat for a while and disc's had light surface rust. Told them the calipers and pads needed to be replaced. Told me my cabin air was extremely dirty. I had changed it a month before and had not driven it. Tried to sell a new filter. Pulled it after saying no thanks. I had 2 pine needles on it. Brake pads also got thicker after another 5k miles. Never had that issue at Easton, but my son did work there. Robp bought from him.

 

@Taco1004 maybe we can have a local cheesesteak meet at Genovas?

 

Tysons had 15k ADM when we looked for the Tundra. Went to McGeorge in Richmond for 1k over. Wanted to drive back to Tysons and say look what you missed out on.

 

Buyer just backed out.

I know. I should have known it would be a miracle for this to be over so quickly and to miss out on top of it. This process is stressful.

I’m sure you already looked into it, but just in case… have you taken it to a dealership? Dealers are buying used cars left and right, even if you don’t buy from them! Cars are going for stupid high rates lately too. You may get more than you think, and it’ll be no haggle, just take it in, have it appraised and they’ll cut you a check on the spot.
