I remember you saying that; I'm hoping it's just related to high mileage...

What's gone wrong with your friend's truck?

Besides the CELs, he has found many bolts that are too loose, too tight, missing altogether, electrical connections half connected, wires pinched, etc.

People don't realize that a frame replacement is a damn serious undertaking and evolves the dismantling of 75% of the truck.

Aside from the transmission linkage issue the night I got the truck back and the rear brakes being overtightened, I actually have not noticed an issues. The truck seems totally solid in terms of bolts being tightened. I honestly think that the alternator was just a very inconvenient coincidence, but I have a feeling that the O2 sensors were likely touched when the exhaust system was transferred to the new frame and that might have caused them to fail.

As for the traction control, if it isn't a "companion code" as suggested by @ColoradoTJ, then I have a feeling I might have messed that up when I drove through a puddle the other day.

Also, my TPMS light would come on all the time during the winter, years before my truck even became part of the frame recall; There's a chance the traction control light could be the result of both cold weather and old age, combined with the aforementioned puddle...

    @Plain Jane Taco

What year is your buddy's rig, how old was it at the time of the frame replacement, and how many miles were on it at that time?

Remind me again what Pioneer HU you have, I saved the tab on my browser but closed it by accident Charlie

I had a similar issue with mine and fixed it.

What issue? The only issue mine has is that there's a long delay between syncing the iPod with the HU; It's a 1550NEX I think, purchased back in 2018 so no longer made...

Granted I'm only 6 months out so not a huge sample size, but yours was done more recently. Zero issues with mine.

I have had O2 sensors in other vehicles need to be replaced well before 140K so this is something I feel would have happened regardless of the frame job.

Wasn't the Bluetooth being fastidious too I thought?

I would definitely agree there, but @Plain Jane Taco makes a very good point, and if something else suddenly fails then it might be more than just a coincidence; Basically everything under the truck except the exhaust system and upper control arms is brand new at this point, so I don't see of that failing. The front brakes are less than a year old, the rear brakes are like two years old and have about 40K miles on them, the suspension is all brand spanking new, and the tires (including the spare) aren't even a year old!

Yup, I've pretty much given up on the Bluetooth; What's weird is that it streams music just fine via Bluetooth, but it's very uncooperative when I'm trying to talk on the phone.

True if it isn't something that could be expected to fail at that time/mileage.

I ran into a similar thing with the phone not pairing and/or not holding the pair when I would shut the truck off. This was after I got it back from sitting for 3 months though. I did a reset of the radio and fixed it

Unless you had a new exhaust system installed when they did the frame, there's about zero chance that somebody touched the critical part of your O2 sensors when they swapped it over. That's because they unbolt the whole system and swap it over.

The exterior portion of the sensor can look pretty bad and still function perfectly normally. The critical part is inside the exhaust pipe.

This, and what he said prior post. My old car in college that needed one looked fine until I removed it and the inside was junk

The same shit everyone else has.
Pull the wheel speed sensor. It’s probably corroded or the pickup is dirty.
