Who has the highest mileage 3rd gen??

Well bad news to report...Rear main seal starting to leak. Currently at 243.5k

 

What options have you considered? Fix or Trade? Or too early to decide?

 

Was thinking the exact same thing.

I like to look at these kind of threads for actual high mileage reports. Mainly to see when the high mileage guys encounter failures, but most poster only want us to know they are sub 10K miles on their 2016.

Props to @bigoldbeef and @Artjr and a few others for giving us real updates!

 

Going to limp my 18 along adding oil until I purchase another Tacoma. Then drive new truck until 18 is repaired. Then I’ll revert back to piling miles on the 18 and leave new truck parked as a backup.

If anyone has a lead on a new 6 speed manual without charging over msrp let me know…spent all day looking within a 250 mile radius with no avail.

 

Where are you located? My local dealership sells at msrp. I wouldn’t be surprised if the have a manual inbound.

 

I’m in Marietta ohio. I’d travel 6 hours one way if I could find one. Everyone I’ve found either already has a deposit on one or it’s “allocated” and they won’t have for another 1-2 months.

 

I’m about 5 hours from you. I’ll ask if they have any manuals coming in the next few weeks.

I try to post everytime I see these threads . I rocking over 146k on my 2017 .I'm original owner no major issues .

 

These are the posts I love to see. I’m at only 63K on my 2019, so it’s great seeing someone with almost 150K and no major issues!

What do u think the cost to repair will be?

 

Not sure. If it was summer I’d just do it myself in my driveway. Probably $1500 ish for parts & labor. Going to replace clutch and associated parts since trans will be out anyways.

 

I have a 2017 3.5 with 181k bought new Jan 2017. Oil changes every 15k, replaced pads twice, rotors once and had a leaking wheel cylinder replaced at about 140k. Still runs like new. Oh and on my 5th windshield that if I had replaced EVERY SINGLE time they broke I would probably be on my 9th or 10th one.

Have you also done any other fluids? Difs? Is this a 2wd? Manual/auto? Ever do Blackstone samples?

 

Sounds encouraging for QDR. Are your miles mainly highway miles?

 

Yes everyone I can think of including brake fluid a few times, trans, diff. 4wd auto. Have not done samples.

 

About 90% highway. I drove 250 miles round trip daily for about a year and a half. And typically 100 miles a day round trip outside of that year and a half.
