That’s great. I measured some pieces in my delivered pile I’m burning now and it’s all over the place on the large side, anywhere from 17-22”. It’s frustrating reprocessing split wood but I’m coming into stride with the stove in the last few days. I been cutting the split wood in half getting 8-10” pieces to better fit the stove the whole time but I think at first I was over packing it. Had a fire going from Wednesday night all the way to Thursday night maintaining 400-500° with only a few pieces added at a time every couple hours. Above the stove air temp reading 70° most of the time. Still keeping an eye out for a bigger stove to heat the garage faster but this is a great stove. If I ever replace it I’ll prob move it up to Vermont. Right now I’m dreaming of dropping a container and making a garage/shop/bunk house, this stove would be excellent in a container.

my sister just got a new one for her place in NH and it pumps out the heat. It’s a Woodstock soapstone stove. If you want to save a few Pennies try a Vermont castings.

Was gonna suggest to add one on the bottom to free up space inside if possible... didn't realize there was one there  Strange way to do it, literally the opposite of the intuitive way lol

Here's the little Jotul F3cb in ivory, that we use as primary heat with electric in the bedrooms and a couple space heaters on occasion for supplement.

The way my dad likes to run it is a bit odd though. The air is supposed to go in that vent at the front and temps controlled by adjusting it, but he only ever wants it closed (too drafty with it open i guess, idk). Instead air really only runs through the door of the ash tray and we use the little choke/vent thing at the top and creative use of the wood and timing to control the temps. Still works great but I gotta empty the ash tray all the time to keep it going which is annoying so I'm not a fan. Hasn't been rebuilt in my life besides window seals so probably a couple leaks in it as well.
Keeping a pot of water handy helps spread the heat out a bit since the moisture in the air moves heat way better than dry air. Kills the appeal of the dry heat feeling but its easy enough to control it and find a humidity level that works but still feels good. Makes breathing a bit more comfortable when it's really blazing too lol

I have a Hearthstone soap stone stove. 2” thick soap stone holds the heat long after the fire is gone.

Your sister moved to NH? Good for her. Better than this shithole state.

yeah she smartened up and got the hell out of this crappy state. They live right on the NH/VT border in Lyme. It’s really nice up there, and so are the people compared to everyone down here that’s in rush to get nowhere lol.

The gate was closed to get to Buttermilk Falls, the trail along the Flatbrook was 28 miles to the closed gate. It was 18 degrees and saw nobody else, nice ride!

This video makes it seem WAY cooler than it actually is. It's really a boring ass trip with a few cool parts.

The pines are much better enjoyed on 2 wheels instead of 4. Actually that is the case for all of NJ it seems.

Did you see the price increases for Rausch now? Fuck that place. It's a bummer to say that about a place that helped teach me all my driver skills I have gained over the years but those prices are nuts. Especially when the type of wheeling/trails I do now have far greater risk of breaking shit than before.

Actually haven't been there in a few years. I thought they were high then.
