I think quite a lot the fact a 12 year old at that age could have had several different parents .

So often when I hear about a child being snatched it is by a parent that lost the custody hearing or the arrangements were not good enough.

If I was grabbed the kidnappers would pay to bring me home and hope for a nice long stay in the concrete motel

So has Clyde gotten started on the frame swap or still waiting on parts?
Joking aside, that's no fun having your truck out of commission.

Fortunately the truck isn't totally out of commission, it's still drivable(ish). A new wrinkle developed on Friday... none of the dealerships in the local area will order a frame! Apparently (1) there are no 3rd gen DCLB frames available in western Canada, and (2) all the dealerships around apparently don't believe that insurance will pay for a new frame, and are afraid they'll wind up being stuck with it... I've got to talk to the adjuster tomorrow and find out WTF!

o_O well I hope they get it figured out. Get you into a brand spanking new one. That's what I'd be after. Pay how many thousands of dollars in your life for insurance and then this bs. :annoyed:

I can see the dealers side that is a Chunk of change to have sitting. I would wonder if you can even get a new frame yet being it is so new.

Get the check cut money in hand works wonders.

    Good luck

    My thoughts exactly!

Thing is, it's a reputable body shop that's [trying] to order it. I could see them being skeptical if I walked in and wanted one, but you'd think if a body shop calls and says, "We've got an insurance job on an '18 Tacoma, we need...." they'd order it without too many questions.

As much as I really don't want to, because I've pretty much got the truck just the way I want it, I may have to push for a write-off, but that would leave me >10K out of pocket for a '22, and what's the wait time on that?????

Who can say each dealer is different perhaps the body shop is a slow payer .I know a few body shops that are on COD every where.

Something personal between the body shop and the parts manager you never know

I am sure come Monday you will get things figured out.

It's auto insurance - I'm resigned to, "This will make a root-canal seem like a visit to the fun park!".

Well fellers, 2:20 on a Monday morning and I'm the shop night watchman -- again...
Tossed and turned in bed for 3 hours and gave that up.
My internet is down too, had to hotspot my phone.
There is an inch or two of snow outside, not enough to be a problem, just a pain in the butt.

So, in the spirit of my Mothers teaching "if you can't say anything nice...":
Good Monday morning Wrenchmen, (and others of related tendencies) hope you all have a good day.

Sorry you couldn’t sleep Rusty. I slept okay, Sunday nights are usually rough for me.

Yeah the only part I'm really dreading is cutting the old ones off. I'm gonna try to get this job done this week :fingerscrossed:

    Morning fellas,

Closed out deer season last night, 2 shots taken one harvested doe. Missed one doe from 225 yds+, dropped the other at 90 yds. I'd like to get a new scope before next season, my fil loves his Nikons, I'm open to suggestions.

I have a cheap end Nikon on my 6.5, I like it. Cole has a Vortex on his .243, I like it too. Crimson Trace has started making optics, I haven't fondled any of them.....yet :D

Is this considered gun smithing? One of Coles screws disappeared from his holster.
