Would you sell or include a cheap toneau when doing a trade-in?

My 2018 is going away very shortly in a trade in... and it's got a crappy trifold soft toneau on it. I hate the damn thing - cheap hardware, flimsy... is it worth pulling the rails and trying to sell it outright or just strap it on the back and "send it".

I'm of the opinion to just include it with the truck but was looking for opinions.

Depends if I could get enough to justify the time. Doesn’t sound promising based on what you said.

Let it go with the truck so you don't have to hassle with people.

I think you pretty much answered your own question OP.

Yeah - I mean - I guess maybe what I'm really asking is do you think that people in a local market (cause you would never ship this) would be looking for a "not very good" cover. LOL - I mean - I'm "me" and if I came looking at this I'd see how cheap all the parts are and run away... but I don't know if it's something someone else might be all excited that they got a cover.

I think as I'm writing this I decided I can't sell this and be able to live with myself... regardless of the time to uninstall - I'd hate to piss off another human with this thing.

Just needed to type it out I guess!!!

Sounds like a hassle... I would leave it on the truck.

Wholesaler will undoubtedly put it in the trash, which from your exuberant recommendation is where it likely belongs.

Try to get them to throw in a couple hundred on the trade-in if you include the cover

While not a bad idea... The deal I'm getting on a special ordered truck (that actually got built) is so absurdly good in this market - they can have this thing :)

Leave it with the truck and swap the hood before and make 500 more

That I can't do - they know it's a Sport and know the Sport has a function-less, view obstructing blob on top of the hood and would be expecting such.

You might be able to get $100-$150 on craigslist or something, but its gonna be taking up space and being a PITA. One more vote for trading it in, but see if you can get something for it

If I can't deal with the sliminess of pulling this thing off and selling it to some unsuspecting buyer... then I sure as hell can't deal with swapping a hood...

Every post I respond to here makes me more sure it should just be attached to the truck and go away... :D

My vote goes to leaving it on. Sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth. I'd only take it off if you think it might devalue the truck. The next owner might get some use out of it; private sale probably won't be worth the hassle.

I doubt it would make any difference in your trade-in price. For me, the question would be, can I make enough money selling this to justify spending my time to remove it and sell it.
