Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

The stickers are likely “hit and miss” just like the grab handle pens. Depends who’s stuffing the envelopes.

 

Not COD, but Postage Due. They(KTJO) put $1.16 on the envelope and the postal service said it cost $5 to send that package, so I owed them $3.84 to get my package. Sorta somewhere between lay-away and a hostage situation.

You’re lucky that it even arrived. Our postal service just returns the item to the sender for insufficient postage. Who knows how she’d react to that?

It still makes a high pitch noise, but it is barely noticeable unless it's super quiet outside, or you hold the unit up to your ear. It's one of those electronic high-pitch frequencies. If anyone hears it, please report back. Otherwise, my unit might be have a defect, or it might be an electrical gremlin, like a ground loop in my system that's causing the problem...

 

If you hear it all the time even when the ignition is off, it must be drawing power continuously from an unswitched circuit. It will run down your battery over time.

 

It's the tiny screams of thousands of dissatisfied customers.

 

So people don't have to jump around looking for it, Rav4 install video is post 5564. You see that you guys who frequent this thread? So when someone asks, because they will, 5564 is the correct response.

I kinda figured that was a given that's why I went back a few pages to get the post#.

 

It's not the aux fuse panel. The unit makes a high pitch sound when powered up, and after it turns off for a few minutes, and then it stops. This happens regardless if my aux fuse panel is disconnected or not. I might have a defective unit... Hopefully, they aren't all this way.

@BOMBS can you listen carefully to your unit while it's powered up to see if you have the electronic sound? The vendor is offering to send me a replacement... Thanks!

 

Here is a message I got from vendor regarding the adapt a fuse wire that was included in HUD wire kit.

• That was included by error, please disregard the fuse.

 

I think I have heard a sound like you had described, but I don't hear it everytime I start/turn off my truck and I don't actively listen for it either. I will check again later though.

 

I can't laugh any more that I am now.


But at least you got a door prize out of it.

 

Still waiting on decent weather to install mine. Are you sure the noise is not some kind fault that needs resetting. Looking over the PDF file, there are some fault codes that can happen. Keep us informed.
