Batteries have been discussed at nauseum on here. Also the current recycling and after life usage.

Better torque and power with cheaper operating costs don’t appeal to you? There is no reason why you can’t use a truck bed and travel just because it’s powered by electric motors.

Well the Rivian isn't a work truck by design. The Chevy, Ford and the EV Tacoma will be. So the Rivian wouldn't be a wise choice. But wouldn't matter to you..lol But yes they will be expensive but not Rivian expensive as a work truck. Chevy and Ford have $40k work trucks coming. No frills version EV trucks.

But you just said you don't care about polluting. What's the grip then?

Never know, but i doubt it. The pre production model looks like a double cab, also which gives more dimension for batteries.

Lol my R4P's power comes from killing salmon. :p Just sayin'.

That said, it's 5c/mile vs 10c a mile when I'm running on the ole dino juice.

The US is upgrading power plants to be more efficient reduce emissions. The biggest issue is that our “open market” subsidizes fossil fuels and red tape holds up large renewable projects to the point that renewables have a hard time competing and it’s not worth it for the traditional energy companies to stick their necks out on it.

Moving transportation to the electric grid enables the use of whatever electricity generation technology comes along in the future without having to rebuild the entire chain from consumer to producer for every new tech, like biodiesel or hydrogen.

Just think how many trucks we could get off the road without having to keep gas station tanks filled. Damn, we’re improving traffic too. And you can 15 min back in your week by not stopping at gas stations.

So yes, it is absolutely a path forward to more sustainable consumer model and supply chain future and I don’t see reason to be opposed to that.

Eh I'll stick with the 'cheaper than gas' argument plus 'they gave me free money to do it' :p

you might be a cave man if you dont care about future generations. You are ancient in your thought process “driven only by emotion”

how is that for a thread title? ❄️
