My backup camera has been collecting water over the last few weeks, I'm not sure if this is from the car wash I go to or condensation. Either way the water has dried up and it left the inside of the lens dirty so I can barely see anything on my backup camera. Short of trying to heat/pry the lens off, the camera doesn't seem to be serviceable.

It appears Toyota is smoking crack because the OEM part 86790-04021 is $720. Has anyone recently used a cheaper Ebay or Amazon model that runs for around $75? I'm hoping for some real world feedback before buying a cheaper unit.

This one is $40 and seems to fit the bill, others seem to be around $75 https://www.amazon.com/MOTOALL-8679...cs&sprefix=86790-04021,electronics,156&sr=1-3

I changed mine out about a year ago. Went the Amazon route and it was the exact same when I removed the factory one. I paid about $50 at the time. Looks like you have the right one.

I bought a $40 ebay camera over a year ago to upgrade my camera-less base model truck and it has worked perfectly. It doesn’t look like the seller I bought from still carries them, though.

    I just purchased from tailgatecamera.com
https://youtu.be/mB3HqcU1R6o The video has a pretty solid walk through with a link for the purchase. Lets you keep the original camera in the tailgate and just plug in a new camera, mount where you want, and you're set. $150 and took about 3 days to arrive.

I was going to order the MOTOALL one I linked but noticed it was coming from China with delivery date near the end of March. I picked up that DEF camera which is now $90. It came today and the install was a no go. The pins inside of the connector of the camera are double the length of the OEM camera, making it so the female connector isn't able to slide all the way down to lock into place. I wonder if DEF picked a new camera sensor over the years. Time to go with the MOTOALL or find some ebay versions and pray

The one I ordered was the DEF version which was in my history.. It might have changed suppliers on Amazon or something. Sorry that sucks. At least its not $720.
