I was debating a full horizontal band saw and a cold chop saw then just talked myself into the Porta band and the table. Just need to order it up.

I can't wait to cut my sliders off with the Porta band!!

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Funny I have a vertical band saw set up I bet it has not been used in 15 years .

For small things I just use the grinder and cut off wheels for Bigger pieces the Horizontal band saw.

The Deep Cut Portaband Has not been used since I took it off the Welding Rig 20 years ago.

That is awesome. I recently got the deep cut bandsaw for the mounds of angle iron I'm cutting for the front yard steps. The stand is what I need to have more precise cuts. In the meantime I grabbed some 1" angle iron and a sheet of metal with small holes punched through and created a few floating table tops for a nook we have in the house to match the door you can see through the mirror. Added some blue to darken it and some clear coat -- and it's looking good! Of course the walls aren't perfectly square so there was a lot more measuring / grinding relative to welding but it was a great project. Something I would never have even thought about doing before the welder ...

I love welding. I really do. And I’m a perfectionist and want all my welds to be better than the last. But I hate the pay in this industry and how you kinda get capped off around $70-$80k unless you work all the overtime and spend time away from family.

Welding is such an expensive side hustle to get into.
I want the big jobs so mobile welding is what it’s gonna be but fuck. The truck. Machine. Tools. Ain’t none of it cheap like other hobbies to get into.

Picked these up off Amazon. They get great reviews but we'll see. Came in one day!

I tried them. Compared to Walters, I thought they sucked. In fact I used 2, and chucked the rest.

Good to know. I'll give them a test in a couple days and see how they do.

Anyone use these HF corner clamps? I want to pick up a couple/few and the other clamp I was looking at for $20 is now $30 something ha.

Some things cheap will do. Others it’s better to spend the $$. I plan to use them a lot and keep them forever so I’m hesitant.

Any recommendations would be great! Thanks!

I’ve tried a similar clamp for Irwin and I always found it a little clumsy to use. I switched over to a single clamp style like these:

Limited-time deal: 2 Pack Corner Clamps for Woodworking, Corner Vise Right Angle Clamps Quick Grip Corner Clamp, Adjustable Right Angle Clamp , Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J7V1C4Z?_encoding=UTF8

The inner clamp pivots at the threads so you can still lock two pieces of material at 90 degrees even if they’re of unequal dimensions. They’re also a little bulkier in design so they’ve survived my “unintentionally dropped off the workbench” test.

Looks like a better price for the same products as the Hobart ones, more or less.

    Good middle road. Thank you!

Those are nice! I’ve seen you posting them!

But I own squares haha what I don’t have are extra hands or super long arms. The clamps help hold things in place while I measure and tack.

If I need a more heavy duty square I’ll let you know!

These are all that I use, I like them a lot. Same with their cut off discs. Great for a hobbyist in their garage.
