I have 2 Nikon scopes no problems with them. If I were to gripe at all about them it would be glare from the sun. Glare seems to make the cross hair go a gold color and a little harder to see. That might just be my models though. If rumors are true Nikon is getting out of the rifle scope optics but that wouldn't prevent me from buying another.
Higher end Bushnell are good. I like Burris too.
Leopold, Redfield lot of good options out there. Natchez has good deals, sign up for their flyer mailed to your house.

Steady-rest to support, at least part way along? I wouldn't expect 2 1/2" stock to bow much over that length, but a knurling tool does put a lot of pressure on the work.

I kind of laugh because most of the optics I have are under $500.00 there's only two that I've paid that much for or a tiny bit more.
It's just some fellas mentality if you spend a grand on a rifle you should spend twice that much on optics.
Nothing wrong with that, but I'm just not that guy

I’ll try it and see what happens, I can always push it back in the chuck and do half and try to pick back up on the other half if need be.

You could fabricate a follower rest for that machine in a jiffy. Lol, I know jiffy are running low at the shop now:rofl:but just a piece of angle with a couple holes, another piece upwards with a piece of nylon bar stock bolted to it.
    Nonsense, no time for that.:burp:

I’m gonna try and swing by and cut the bucket brackets off tomorrow, luckily it’s on my way home. Drug the ole Bobcat out, been a while since it’s been out of the shed.

I alternate, I like the variety...

If I can get to sleep I can usually go 5 hours or so before something hurting wakes me up.
For decades I didn't dream at all -- now I have some of the oddest dreams, I actually will ask the wife the next day if we had this or that conversation.

I tell myself that fate, karma or higher power ultimately has plans for people like that.

Who has " normal" dreams? Aren't dreams pretty strange in general?

My sleep troubles are sporadic. I think sometimes stress at work has something to do with it. I haven't had much trouble sleeping lately. If there's a time when I get feeling run down and need a good night sleep then I'll take a advil PM or little nyquil. Both of those sometimes leave me not 100% until 10 in the morning. I know there's prescription stuff available but I'm all about avoiding anything if I can help it. Still haven't started any of that cholesterol crap:anonymous:

    Agree.

I am a really dull person for the most part.
Usually when I did dream it was about work, just mundane everyday routine -- kind of rough to wake up to go to work when you have already been there for hours...

The dreams I have now are still pretty pedestrian. A lot of the time they seem to be my wife and I conversing so they seem quite real...just real odd. :notsure:
