ASSHOLE PARKING

Having actually met him and worked for him he surprisingly is.

this one irked me but not enough to cause problems.

backstory: I am watching a house for relative while snow-birding. neighbor had a relative bring their car up from Georgia to "park" it while they were away themselves. initially the car was up on the sidewalk (obvious big no-no in the city) and covered. so when told to move it and not block the sidewalk they moved it back 5 feet and onto the street, effectively taking up two spots of parking

 

double, the Infinity and red taco are in the middle. my silver taco is correctly in the spot

The Tacoma driver parked like an asshole too. You're suppose to park WITH the flow of traffic.

 

it may still be a triple, that Jeep on the other side looks like it's parked terribly too.

 

is this an unwritten rule or is it a law in some places? I was always under the impression it was law but I could never find it.

 

It is a law in Texas, and probably is for a lot more states. But laws vary from state-to-state.

 

my coworker just found it for Washington. RCW 46.61.575 states r/h wheels must be within 12 inches of curb on two way streets. So I guess if I park the wrong way but up on the sidewalk, I can still get my r/h wheels to the curb.

I find this crazy in my neighborhood where only one car can drive down the street due to parking on both sides. I park the wrong way usually because my driver door opens up to my sidewalk and I just get hop out and into the house. But I’m a rebel without a cause so I’ll take my asshole badge.

 

it is actually a "written" law for a lot of places, city or state.

as @MyBlueTaco mentioned parking with the flow of traffic is required and a ticket able offense. it causes problems when trying to pull out across a lane of travel, especially when it is a high traffic or cramped street (as is the case in my pic, thank you for that @MyBlueTaco ) however I'm not sure they enforce it too much on this particular street or area

one of my all time favorite shows is Parking Wars (not sure what the wars is ) and you see them giving tickets all the time for parking opposite the flow (side) of traffic.

 

How old is your neighborhood? In my old neck of the woods, many of the streets pre-date the automobile, and were made for ASS (horse) parking....

You should give him a break, 1. he is in a handicap spot. 2. he isn't smart enough he purchased a chevy. 3. he's at walmart on top of it.

 

Before I owned a Tacoma, i had to crawl thru my trunk once to get in my car because of the jerks who parked me in, lets just say one of them had a screw driver mark down the side of his fancy car.

 

Wasn’t there a ruling a couple of hundred pages back that Home Depot and Walmart didn’t count because it was basically cheating?

I mean, on any given day you are guaranteed to find text book asshole parking in both locations.
