    They are metal. The black one I have is just the primered version. I've had it for a year and haven't even put a coat of actual paint on it :eek:

    Has it held up? I sanded, primed, painted, and flat clear coated mine with a ton of coats...

    Yep, looks like the same flat black primer it was a year ago ;)

    I wonder if I should actually paint it black then, or will the primer protect the metal enough?

    Thanks Beau. Wasn't too bad in the snow. If it snowed down here all the time though I would definitely get the 4x4.

    I have to admit it would have been pretty hilarious if I got stuck solely because I was out taking pictures in the snow.
