Laborers are easy to come-by; quality work is not, and no-one wants to foot the bill for re-work.

 

Yeah its just a total joke as the roofer pretty much laid the blame at the Builder for this...

 

I need to take a picture of the window that needs to be replaced and will require the ALL the siding to come off to get the window out so it can be installed square and level....

 

So the builder's rep came by today and told me this is normal do to fire code for smoke to escape...

And they didn't use the foil backed OSB because that helps the fire escape too..

 

Bingo but they don't wanna talk about that either right now..... Seems a call to the local building dept is in order!

It really isnt hard to see.

I get that production building isnt gonna be perfect but that would bug me.

As far as roofing goes, up here in Greensboro we have a Best Choice Roofers (BCR) office. I think theres one in CLT too as they are somewhat national, I would look into them for a second opinion. They did a fantastic repair on my 60 year old roof. But it would be insane to have to pay for something like that on a 3 month old home.

 

You've got to be kidding. Are they planning on a few of these burning down?

 

I get the production stuff as well I understand its not going to be a "custom" home but to call yourself a "luxury Home Builder" and deliver this type of product is mind blowing....

No but they're one of the top 5 builders in the county and I think DR Horton would have done a better job...

I am going to check into maybe a baffled type ridge vent as this ridge vent is not baffled...

 

One thing you have going for you is that central NC gets one maybe two snow/ice events a year, so you have some time to make an attack plan for it.
