Not a Ridgeline fan at all but why don’t people shit on the Ford Maverick?
    It’s a unibody truck type.

No need to spread the salt around, sugar tits. I've got plenty enough. You sound like one of those Canadians who wave at other Tacoma drivers driving down the road.

Ridgeline has been out for a while and it’s been hated for a while now. Maverick will have the same faith pretty soon.

Majority of people buy trucks to sleep better knowing they can go to HD on Sunday and pick up some stuff for the house, but then drive to their 9-5 the next day. This is exactly what the Ridgeline is designed to do. Think lifestyle vehicle rather than work truck. The Tacoma is somewhere in between.

    Packaging.
The Maverick is an ‘ideal self’ truck, you can fill the bed with an inflated sense of self. No one really cares about ‘unibody’ or ‘body on frame’. Does it at least look the part? If yes, then it’s a hit.
The Ridgeline is a dad mobile. Like a minivan. Even though it may be an awesome and capable vehicle, no one wants to admit to it because it looks like the way it does.

Wait... I currently own a Ridgeline. It will fulfill 95% of all of your needs. However, it is like driving a toaster oven or a refrigerator... it has no personality. It ticks all of the boxes that Tacoma owners want. It handles well, got 26 mpg on a 500 mile trip, it goes great in the snow, has a heated steering wheel, and all else that you complain about. However, it has no personality. I will be trading soon for a vehicle with a personality, however flawed. Oh, it hauls 4X8 sheets of plywood laid flat... I just got through hauling three sheets. It does quite well on fire roads too. Not rock crawling tho.
Funny thing... it will handle washboard roads at high speed much better than a Tacoma now due to a redesigned shock system. Google it.

According to science 98-99 out of 100 Tacoma owners would be better off in a Ridgeline if they simply took their boyfriends opinions out of the equation ;)

If you look at Safety ratings for bigger box frame trucks they’re actually worse than safety ratings for CUV/SUVs like the CRV/Pilot and Forester/Outback. Easier to make crumple zones out of a unibody than a reinforced box frame meant to haul/tow.

Tacoma is no Full Size, but same principle applies. The Ridgeline/Pilot is a unibody car, and therefore has more potential for safety engineering than the box we drive. ✌

    Really?

I’ve yet to see one over here. I had no clue that its popular south of the border. The maverick does look better though.

Wouldn’t you rather have Honda engineering, outdoing GM/Ford/Chrysler since it was a baby company dwarfed by those giants up to today when they’re all on round two of blowing all billions of our tax dollars over “looks better” though? Haha maybe that’s just me.
