    The wind chill actually has an affect. Wind can make things freeze more quickly. The heat index is just a BS thing that your weather people made up so they can think its hot over there. You dont see a "Heat index" on the side of something that needs to be cooked.....

    We've got horrible weather here today. Raining hard, freezing on contact with the roads, and still have about two feet of snow on the ground. School cancelled for the third time in two weeks. At least it's not that cold here today, about 30. Just a touch colder than sunny Arizona!:eek:

    It makes it FEEL hotter, I never said that it made things cook faster or water boiler at a lower temperature. Just like the wind makes it FEEL colder.

    Barley. The Dogs got out of bed and into the back yard, only to both come running inside shivvering. My heater has been running fairly constant. The thing that sucks, the air near my ceiling is about 80*, while near me feet, its 65*...I KNOW hot air rises, but I have to figure out how to get the warm air closer to me.......
