So I am curious if anyone has a similar set up as pictured. Basically I need to know if the prinsu height bed rack would allow for a clamshell camper to clear the cabs prinsu rack, or even potentially use it for support? Thinking of going this route to open up my options for better RTT down the road when I am ready to purchase one. Much appreciated all.

I have the bedrack it does completely clear the roof and the antenna fin

i dont have the prinsu rack, however in my correspondence with cbi before purchasing the bedrack they explained that the bedrack and roof rack will sit flush with each other so if you plan on putting items on the roof rack then the tent on the bedrack the tent will not clear those items. The tent however will clear the roof and be flush on both racks. I would not advise you to mount the tent to both racks because your bed flexes separately from the cabin.

Perhaps some slight spacers to give myself a bit of forgiveness

I would think if you mean spacers below the tent* you will loose a bunch if the structural integrity. I think and i could be wrong but the tent preforms to its optimal standards and holds weight and opens ect best flat on a rack to support it. Otherwise driving and using it may put extra strain on. It and the mounts?

So if a clamshell tent doesn't clear the prinsu rack with a prinsu height bed rack, what's the point?

In doing what I probably should've done from the start, I called cbi and they confirmed it should be a non issue.

    Thanks all!
