I was young & dumb once...
First car, '66 Mustang; in Daytona Beach, first experience with frost; no scrapper and I thought "only diamonds scratch glass"...
I used a small piece of dog chain.
It cleared the frost nicely, but it also left a few marks in the glass. Saw them everyday for the next five years. dammit
(That was 1975 and I still remember. 'Twas a hard lesson that diamonds are not the ONLY thing to cut glass. No credit card for this young punk back in those days. Did have a DL though... like I said, "dumb".)

I wish i knew haha they were tinted already when i got the truck. they do look much darker in that photo.

 

finally got my sliders on this weekend. Not exactly what I was expecting so there will need to be some modifications made. Pro grill coming this week hopefully

Well I guess I didn't read the fine print or scroll down the page far enough when I bought them. The said bolt on and in my mind they were "bolt on to the frame" instead of weld. They are bolt on to where you would bolt on running boards. So since I don't plan on going off roading in the near future I'm planning on welding some support arms with brackets to bolt onto the frame as well. I don't trust hitting anything with any type of force and it not pushing up into the bottom panel.

 

I keep going back and forth on it. one day I like it and the next day I don't

 

Looks good to me! Better than the OEM Sports grill i had back in 2017

 

As soon as I get it all together I’m switching back from the pro to the or grill.

 

Personally, I'm a fan of the more low-key OR grille over the Pro. I am planning to tint the emblem though.

 

I think if it the whole thing was black I would like it better. like color matched to the truck. Maybe I could paint it and see how I like it.

 

Maybe. I feel like there should be something there. Painting it over might make it look like a poorly hidden radar sensor, worse than some of the newer Mercedes grilles, which it kind of is. I wonder if you could take the clear cover off and paint match the actual emblem, then put the cover back on.
