It goes on a machine that does something with fabric, when it gets back from paint I'll put a photo on here. The only part of this knurl that gets used is a small portion on the bottom that pinches the fabric.

Sawed, faced to length and center drilled. Didn’t need a center drill in this end but my ocd won’t let me have one in one end and not the other. Now to the mill.

While the lathe is on I figured I’d knock this air nozzle out with the 1/2-18 die. Never seen a 1/2” die that wasn’t split and an adjusting screw in it. I guess this one slipped through QC. Had to shorten it 8 1/2”.

I went down the bacon press rabbit hole.

I had no idea how these things worked.

Found this article testing these things.

What's so special about a Sal's bacon press? Can you post a picture?

Sorry, can’t right now. Suppose it’s just a grill weight but it’s perfect. Right weight, right material & it feels just right.

Drilled and tapped the handle holes so I could locate the 48° tapped and counterbored end holes. I think it’s done.

Aluminum radiators/CAC's/heat exchangers are brazed using a large controlled atmosphere furnaces(200 ft in length nitrogen atmosphere in the brazing chamber).
parts go from room temp to 1200 deg to room temperature in that 200 ft.... just hot enough for the cladding on the base material to flow.
Any contamination(oils, dirt, steel shaving) creates poor braze results..

some defects can be repaired using torch braze, but requires a lot of skill, as the aluminum provides almost no sign of temperature like steel does
