I have a 2013 Tacoma TRD... my front bumper caps are seriously scuffed up & I can't find a body shop that would repaint/fix them because no one wants to " touch a red truck ." It looks like the front bumper caps can be removed . has anyone done this. it seems a cheaper route than the body shop if I remove them, repaint & replace. I also have some scratches I have to deal with when warm weather comes but so far body shops & detailers just aren't interested in making $$$ from me. Love/Hate Barcelona Red , Thanks for any feedback/thoughts.

the nubs on the sides of the bumper. Easily removed, you just have to take off the entire bumper fascia and then the clips are easily accessible.

The body shop probably doesnt want to touch a red truck because red is a pain to blend.

I never saw any nubs before, is this for an after market bumper?

Post a picture of the caps you are talking about. Might be a little easier to understand what you are asking.

If you are talking about this:

then yes, there are about 6 blue clips holding it on to the front bumper cover. You need to remove the bumper cover to access the clips, then they come off easy. Follow this video for front bumper cover removal:

Keep dinging my left side end cap. Bought a couple on Ebay from carpartswholesale over time for about $20 each and painted them with Duplicolor spray can. Don't know about other colors but white is a perfect match. Removal is easy - about six plastic clips accessible by removing a couple screws and pushing the fender liner out of the way.

On super white trucks, those parts (along with the fender bulges) are not even painted as far as I can tell. They're injection molded to be a close color match.

So not sure about other colors like blue or red, but if it isn't too expensive you could just buy brand new ones that will come color matched already.
