    I'll use another example:

"It's like saying a Toyota Tacoma will take a bite out of F-150 sales."

I see. I thought the Ridgeline and Maverick were in the same category.

The only thing they have in common is unibody architecture and a FWD bias. Sure, atypical features in the truck world which would suggest they're the same, but one need only look at every other car category to realize that there are numerous different segments that share that layout.

The Ridgeline, despite it's very different goals, is a Midsize truck ala Tacoma and Ranger. The Maverick is the next size down and it's only other contemporary currently is the Hyundai Santa Cruz.

I like how you said this and then followed it up with an indirect statement that would suggest you don't. Has nothing to do with brand loyalty like you suggest and everything to do with one vehicle being smaller than the other.

I don't think a Maverick is a direct competitor with the Ridgeline either, too large of a difference in size and price.

Actual top of roof is like 5’ 2” or 3” it’s kind of like a crossover with a open trunk. I want to drive a hybrid in the next two years and see if I am going to order one for my wife’s next ride.

Picked mine up the other day. It's an ecoboost 2.0 xl, no options to speak of.

Keep in mind I've been driving a 25 year old rust bucket, but the Maverick is nice. Feels like driving a small truck, but getting 31 mpg on the highway. Plenty of power, smooth ride, awesome headlights.

Would have 100% rather bought a new Tacoma, but could not afford it. $24k & change out the door and it feels like a bargain.

I only tow a small utility trailer and haul a kayak or dump runs in the bed. It's in no way a super heavy duty power machine or extreme off roader, but meets my needs nicely.

I can't take my eyes of the steelies. Not sure what I'm feeling here. Admiration? Revulsion? Right on the knife-edge here.

Time to replace the aging Ranger fleet. Coming to an O near you.

I like them. A while back I got 2 flats on my Tacoma and seriously considered changing to the spare tire steelies.

Keeping the steel wheels for now. By the time I use these tires up there should be some take- offs I can pick up for cheap if I decide to. I really don't mind them.

Saw that on the news and thought about this thread.

When Ford gets on a roll with a market disruptor product, it can shake the industry. I think it will be interesting to see where this one goes.
