Yeah, they also said they had to program my key fob. I just said nope. I saw them on sale from 119 to 140 for the lock. I'll do it myself. I don't have heat in my garage, that's the only reason why I checked.

Program the key fob for what???? To opens the neighbors tailgate? I would have called "BS" out loud. As far as I know the tailgate lock wire harness is PnP directly into the passenger side kick panel that controls the lock in the passenger door.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
The Pn'L is PnP and links in right in the driver's side kick panel into the remote door locks.

For those talking about your front emblems.. wrapping it with vinyl works well. I get mine from a @c_mento_taco_808 on instagram (i've done it 3 times now lol).. he colour matches and can do custom designs or the basic toyota symbol. You could also probably just spray tint it with VHT or something.

The only way I'll tint is with film.

Good call. They quoted me "around $580, maybe $600 depending on a couple things" (huh?) when I went in with mine. Efffff that. In talking to another taco owner about it, they said that they often use the same parts we'd order ourselves (as opposed to OEM) on things like tailgate remote locks, remote starters, etc. Sometimes it's due to part availability, but often times it's due to the plug n play of it all. Less time on this easy fix means more money/time on more customers. And people wonder why we don't trust dealerships ...

Wait... that's a real thread? (searching....) Mother of God. Wish I had known about this the other night when I backed into a parking spot perfectly, across from a white Taco parked like an asshole.
