Agree 100%. Regular guys (although Mike is not a regular guy when it comes to his skills) doing amazing things while explaining the technical bits and no fluff.

Nice to see there is a plug and play harness available.
And dont get all butt hurt on the turd gens, we like to poke fun at each other, thats half the fun. Its all fun and games. We all know 1st gens are the best anyway and i will end up with a turd gen one day, most likely. I am jealous of your TOB, though. No chirpy chirpy, like mine. Wish i could swap a turg gen tranny into mine. Anyone figure that out yet?

Nah it's all good man, same ol same ol on TW.
Not sure if you'd like the ratio selection on the RC-62F. Stupid reverse as you know, and the gap from 1-2 is quite a stretch.. well for the 3.5 anyway. Also, RC-62F does not have a "snout" on the end of the input shaft, and thus no pilot bearing in the crank.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Yeah a great series. Still a lot of money to spend on a beater, but very entertaining to see the transformation.

I am no mechanic, but I have tinkered with trucks and cars for 45 years now, the usual brakes, carbs, starters, rads, etc. Watching the episode where they try to turn over the original motor and it just clicks. I knew (as I am sure many did) that it was the starter and the fuse. While I don't much repairs anymore (back and neck are burnt toast), it is nice to know that the stuff I learned through the ages is still up there to be retrieved from the cobwebs.

I was a carpenter and a commercial fisherman for many years. Built houses, and with my jack of all trades father the 2 of us built a 40 foot west coast commercial salmon troller. The one you see at anchor in my tacomaworld logo. So I picked up a lot of knowledge from my father over the decades.

Very entertaining and great to see these young guys just figuring it out as they go and making their own tools as well to tackle the hard stuff. Those jack of all trades skills are starting to disappear from the planet. A reason so many of us get frustrated when we have to get our trucks/cars fixed, and we end up doing the troubleshooting when the dealers can't figure it out.

Great job. Going to subscribe to their youtube channel.

Saw them for master of puppets, ride the lightning, and justice for all and black album. One of the best live bands of all time.

Another good video. It’s amazing what a random orbital or DA buffer can do on a car.
My 1967 Kadett with original paint recently enjoyed a very similar treatment to what this guy did. Those harbor freight sanding pads do some good work.

I appreciate the hard work, resourcefulness and dedication of these guys. No big budget, large YT following or fancy shop. Just working out of a small home garage and learning as they move along with the Tacoma. You can also see Mike genuinely enjoys what he does.

    Nothing major yet.
I looked at the Carfax for this truck and it sort of reflects it’s condition when Mike got it. It looks like it really was only serviced 3 times in 113,000 miles. The previous owner was it’s only owner and there hasn’t been any reported accidents.

To date, it's at almost $22k TOTAL spent! Man, that is awesome. I can't wait to see it totally done and I hope they do go the route of complete exterior and interior restoration. New video came out. They buffed the paint and it's actually black lol. Damn thing looked MGM before.
