What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Started taping the harness back together.

 

What was your goal for doing this whole harness project? Curious.

 

Not so much done to, but done for.

I had burnt and cut wires an I wanted to clean up the wiring for my navigation install. I wanted to order the same part number that’s in my truck but it’s discontinued. I had to order one from a newer truck.

The newer harness has the correct connectors for my navigation unit.

 

Got the permanent ducting ran and the box built for my heater. Just need to drill the hole in the bottom portion for a thru hull and she will be finished up!

After taking this picture I added two duct stands to keep the vent pipe off the plastic fender liner.


Removed the original cubby and just made a new faceplate with the vent.




Shovel still fits.



I have an all in one unit but built this box to keep snow and condensation off it as much as possible. Exhaust will come out the lower piece of plywood via a thru hull, and then when in use I have an exhaust extension with a muffler to keep it out away from the truck.

 

Found this today.

 

Time for all your Ujoints to get replaced and carrier bearing while the shaft is out. Not to hard of a job.

 

I think I need a rear seal, too.

 

Got my new wheels and tires put on today, Taco is finally starting to come together!!

finally got my sport hood painted and threw it on last night. to be honest i’m not sure if i like it better or not. was expecting it to be like my old 07 was but they’re apparently different lol.

 

Where did you get your headlights, and are you happy with the output?

I would have loved to see some fog lights in this build

 

Just took the old taco out for a hog hunt and brush clearing, plenty of bush to clear but hogs were too quick this time.

 

Hugged her goodbye, sold to CarMax in Lynnwood WA for $11000 <- not bad for 7 years old and 153000 miles. Considering I only paid $25000 new back in 2014.

 

Your dirty little secret will be taken to the grave! My RSI cap purchases NEVER cost $4200, so my wife needn't know either!
