We have a huge 18 hole course at Richmond lake about 20 minutes from my childhood home in South Dakota.
Played a ton in high school just for fun with the homies.
Never thought I was that good, but not that bad either.
    Good times!

Mainly just around the Salem area, Salem state hospital for a quick round or I like driving to Dallas, Adair, and camp Taloali for a round of 18. Played at pier mainly when I lived in NoPo. I’m always down to travel for a good day of chucking discs, jus sayin.

Reviving this thread. Any tips for novice throwers?
I throw 90% of my shots forehand. I don't feel as comfortable backhanding sadly. I've started building a bag with some Innova discs and a couple Dynamics my buddy gave me last year.

A putter and mid range is plenty to go out and get started. I don’t recommend super long range discs or discs with a lot of curve built in for beginners. Something like a Leopard or TeeBird is a good starter along with an Aviar or Aero or something. It’s better to focus on consistently throwing the same disc over and over to figure out what works for you and then later on try some new variables.

Most important part is to have fun and keep it fun! The more you go the better :) I link my middle finger on the inside of the driver inner lip and throw sidearm mostly but some of those pros can huck it super far and accurate forehand like you!

Love the TeeBird that I...had...(threw in the lake this past Saturday, when it didn't flip back over to the right). I have a Leopard, Roc 3, a Destroyer that I don't have the arm for yet. I'm going to buy another TeeBird, or see if mine is still in the lake edge this coming weekend. Ordering a disc retriever now!

When you throw a forehand (right handed), it flips left and then FADES right.

Throw the leopard more, it will be good for you, even forehand. When I learned forehand, I used an Innova Beast because it was a neutral disc that would not let me get away with bad form. For a beginner, the Teebird may even be giving you some bad form habits. And leave the destroyer alone for a long while.

Same feedback here. I always tell people to go Leopard then TeeBird when starting out.

I've been playing for nearly 20 years now off and on as an amateur. Just a fun way to get outside for me. The wife enjoys it too so it's a good family fun activity. I have only thrown 4 molds for the last ~7 years. A teebird3 fairway, a leopard3 fairway, a roc3 midrange and aviar putters. I don't have the arm speed for distance but my putt and approach game is really solid and I've become happy overall with my level of play. I swap champion plastic out for g star when the weather gets cold..... I do also have a buzzz in the bag but it isn't my go to

My tip for any beginners is to try and pull the backhand in a straight line from the farthest point you can reach back to the point of release. This will let you control the flight path better with better accuracy but also help (along with a good grip) with the snap that puts that amazing spin on the disc out of your hand to get the best flight out of that mold.

Yeahhhh I understand the flip and the end fade, thats how I lost my TeeBird last weekend sadly (I think the wind caught it before it faded right). I like the Leopard, but I've used the TeeBird so much that I like how it flies better than the Leopard. The Leopard doesn't get much love because of it, but may be time to re-try it.

Mako 3 is a good neutral disc. I would recommend you try it. I never liked the way my Mako fit in my hand, but mine was super domey. I have since held flat top Makos and liked them more, but still don't throw them. Honestly, you will have similar results to the mako if you just learn to throw your putter (something I suck at but have made an effort to get better at recently).

Stick to that! Learn angles. The more I play disc golf, the more I just want to hit good angles. Hitting a good angle and line is way more fun than having 20 different discs.

My Mako3 is my straightest mid range. Love it for those 150ft tunnel shots!

I don't know what a mako3 is but I've had this proto star mako in my bag for a long time. Straightest frisbee I've ever had
