    Did you get the switchbacks for the rear to add an additional reverse light? I have considered that for our Subaru Ascent which currently has the V6 Extreme Reverse bulbs. The gy6.35's weren't enough due to the optics design of the reverse housing on the Ascent. I've considered other options to aid in backing up also like a couple aux lights mounted under the car facing rearward.

    I went boring amber, red and white. This is for my 2002 Tundra with new 2005-2006 assemblies. I’m curious how they will perform compared to the halogens in right now.

    I didn’t worry about reverse light at the time and I’ve since installed a new bumper with pod cutouts so I got some ss3 pros in flood with red backlight on order. I’m thinking I’ll have more light than I need.

    @crashnburn80

    I'd like to put in some selective yellow fog bulbs. Any recommendations for my 2014 DCSB 4x4?
    OEM fogs now.

    The Diode Dynamics SS3 series get high praise around here. Look into the sport, pro or max, depending on your budget.

    Is it possible to mod a 2.5gen headlight to hold 3 light bulbs?

    The Diode Dynamics SAE SS3 LED assemblies are currently the highest performance option. But the stock H11 based fogs are quite good, if you are looking for an inexpensive bulb swap, I'd look at the H11 Nokya Hyper Yellows, or the Hella Xtreme Yellows. I have not tested these, so I cannot say if they truly fall into the legal selective yellow classification. The Nokya specs 2500k whereas the Hellas spec 2900k. Meaning in theory, the Nokyas will be a bit yellower and in theory the Hellas just slightly brighter.

    In what way/for what purpose? All the precision optics are based on the bulb location, so you cannot add bulbs to an existing optics design.

    You could apply a layer of Kapton Tape over the lenses with a clear halogen bulb, and achieve the correct selective yellow color. Kapton tape is able to withstand high temperature exposure. Quick, cheap, effective, fairly durable (could clearcoat over it to add some additional protection from the elements)

    I do not follow what you are trying to achieve. It will not look good and will not optically work.

    Hey @crashnburn80, how is the high beam performance of the Philips GT200 bulbs? I saw your post comparing them to the Morimoto XB headlights for a 2nd gen and they were very close in performance on the low beams for a fraction of the cost. I know you mentioned the high beams on these bulbs aren't as good due to the blue coating but how much worse are they? Thanks.

    I hadn’t logged high beam performance for the H4s the way I have for dedicated high beam bulbs, so I don’t have quantitative data for the loss. The Morimotos high beam is very bright, it will be no contest in favor of the Morimotos. The Morimoto low beam does put out more light than the GT200s, but peak intensity is similar.

    I recently picked up a 2013 Pre-runner SR5 with halogens. Is there an OEM LED assembly that is plug & play compatible?

    No. Only aftermarket - and they pretty much suck. As has been stated many, many times in this thread, if you want improved performance in a 2nd gen headlight, OEM housings with the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade is the only true upgrade.

    Yeah, the aftermarket stuff looks pretty sketchy. Thanks.

    Installed my Headlight Services Harness last night. Took me about an hour but I was in no hurry. I did pull my battery to access a spot to secure the relays (Drivers side wall, right next to batt).
    Everything went as stated in the instructions. Harness is of good quality IMO. I have made simple harnesses before for heated grips and aux lights on my motorcycles. Glad I purchased this one.

    Eight mile drive into work this morning. Even coming off the Phillips RacingVision +200, I can certainly see the difference... I have seen the light! Thanks OP.
