Hugged her goodbye, sold to CarMax in Lynnwood WA for $11000 <- not bad for 7 years old and 153000 miles. Considering I only paid $25000 new back in 2014.

Your dirty little secret will be taken to the grave! My RSI cap purchases NEVER cost $4200, so my wife needn't know either!

I believe you just lost out on a lot more cash for that truck. That seems super low compared to what I've seen prices for used Tacoma's going for.

The headlights are the Alpharex LUXX, and yes very happy with the output! They have the already built in LED chips from Alpharex, and they're more than bright enough at night. Plus the DRL's make for great pictures haha

Agreed. That truck here would be $25k right now.

Agree with both about getting more but In my experience you’ll never get close to resale value for a trade in.

I agree with others that you got swindled on that price. I paid $14k for a 2012 SR5 access cab, with 140k miles, and $14k for a 2008 Off Road access cab, with 83k miles, last summer. Both were in great shape with the V6 but I haven't seen any that cheap since. I have never seen CarMax pay fair money in my experience. I guarantee they will list that truck for at least $19.9k on their site. Even selling on craigslist that 4 cyl truck would fetch $17,500 in my area all day long. I don't believe $25k is achievable. I see several 2nd gens posted in my area between $22k and $30k, for nearly a month, that have not sold. I sold my 2012 to my son for $15k. I wouldn't sell my 2008, that just tripped 84k miles, for $20k.

Thanks for the advice but I've had it posted for about a month at $17000 with no offers. I was fired yesterday after coming back from basic training so I needed the cash to pay bills. In all honesty the truck was not clean massive dent the drive door from a Hilift, extremely damaged tailgate and mismatched fender flares I was shocked Carmax even offered me as much since local Toyota dealership wouldn't touch it.

    New OEM TRD (smoked) headlights.
It was a hard decision to go back to OEM headlights with all the other options out there but I can't put style in front of quality and output.
Thanks to @crashnburn80 for answering all my questions and confirming my decision was the right one!

The old headlights don't look so bad in pictures but I tell you there is a HUGE difference in person. The old ones were "restored" many times. They have fatigue cracks throughout the lenses.

Just got the first offer. They are totaling it. $18k. Seems a little low with the market today in this area. Especially since it was BRAND NEW underneath! Bummed it is totaled but such is life. Not looking forward to buying a new truck right now. No inventory and high prices for used......

My 04 was totalled last September and I only had it a year. I spent a lot of time and money bringing it to where it needs to be. They gave me about 12,000 for it. I had to go to the used market because everything is marked up so high. I settled on a '15 with 36k miles for 27k. There are trucks out there. Keep your eyes open for them

get your ass on unemployment! Washington pays up to $929 per week depending on what you made.

You’re paying into it the whole time you’re working so no shame in using it when you need it.
