Yea, that's what I did lol... this thread came up! I dunno, maybe it's a good thing for some, because without it there would be no warning? I also just googled it an I guess it's still there. If you just go to her website and hit shop, the products are limited. I didn't see the by vehicle option earlier. So I guess there is still more product. Either way... buyer beware! I didn't expect so much butthurt from my inquiry about why this thread exists (not you, others).

I had to use 3m to get the top bolt cover to stay attached, and yea, the inside bolts required an impact. No going back now :notsure:

But a lot of the reports were mismatched colors, product didn't fit at all, missing hardware, damaged, shipping issues, returns/exchange hackling, etc etc etc... It's a quality control thing and an unwillingness to help (or care). And that's not just one product, but all of them - lol. But you are saying you bought without seeing this thread and got lucky, for the most part? Cast your vote I guess :bananadead:

When they shipped out after the first preorder, it was something like 1 year later but I think it was almost 2?. And whom received it first really depended on whatever pile of addresses they felt like boxing up that day. Oh and, she claimed that none of the preorders had prepaid for shipping so everyone had to pay up. Then people were missing parts, wrong screw covers (there was a thread for swapping tops for bottoms) and oh, they didn’t really fit well. I started paying attention when people started to receive the preorder. Later I decided to buy one but she was out and the other he whom shall not be named was out too. So, I got on the pre order for round two. Which was comedy because it came in 2 boxes. The first one, just the handle, looked like it chewed into by some sort of monster, and I thought my parts all fell out. I posted a pic of that box, and I feel the amount of laughter I personally got out of that moment was worth the price of the handle. later they had sent an email explaining why they had sent two packages, something along the lines of it’s easier for us and we thought you would want that part while you waited for the rest. Eventually it all arrived and the install was not easy but I was well informed because of @tonered and a bunch of other posters. And I did get a pen, it’s red. For me it was mostly just humor because I knew what I was getting into, for the first wave, I think they were all quite angry and annoyed.

The top cover has a tab that likes to fold over and prevent it from staying in place. It’s kind of hidden. Someone on this forum pointed that out to me.

Welp, had some time over lunch. Installed the HUD thanks to post# 5564 and it's up and working as it should.

Has anyone tried the HUD without installing the sticker thingy on the window glass? Does it work at all without that?

I am saved from temptation on the HUD because of where it projects. PA has an annual inspection sticker and most counties also have an emissions sticker located in just about that same position. Plus, I have a 3rd next to them because the Pro's weight makes it a Class 2 truck.

It is gonna sound silly, but I miss PA inspections out here. My folks got hosed by some frame rust, but just getting peeps lights, brakes, and tires inspected would go miles.

And not really meaning to make a sale here, but I believe there was a HUD pic here that showed the reflective film placed above an inspection or parking permit sticker. That area should have been reserved, but typically, you cannot count on KTJO 4x4 :puke: when it comes to things that should be logical.

It does sit a bit higher than I thought it would. Not intrusive in any way, just higher up.

It is amazing how much glass is below our lowest line of sight. Very much looking forward to a hood swap.

The other funny is how much the hood line is affected by leveling lifts. I was running around for a short while with 3in of rake and thought that the nose had just disappeared.

    But, DON'T BUY A HUD!!!!! :D

That was one of my first let-downs by her. I traded a few messages with her asking about the projection placement to see if the stickers were in the way. She told me she would take some pictures and send them to me.

    Does anyone hear birds chirping?

I'd have to see an actual measurement of the bottom of the projection area from the lower edge of the windshield to be sure. But, I'm not really tempted at this point.

The display will work fine, but the laminated glass windshield makes a double image. It's readable, but like 3-beers readable (If that makes you chuckle, then insert "3-shots readable".)
