Chevy pickup truck didn't like the maneuverability I had on my motorcycle and wrecked me in a brake check road rage incident resulting in knee reconstruction.

Best part is seeing as I wasn't conscious or "there" enough to give my side of the story it was deemed my fault for an "improper pass."

If I hadn't been riding a Goldwing (flat engine that sticks out wide with a low CG) doctor said I'd probably be at least a single amputee, if the engine didn't stickout and take the brunt of impact and the other head keeping the bike somewhat upright from grinding my other leg into hamburger could have been a double amputee.

Either way won't ride nothing but a Goldwing from now on.

Is this why my headlights sometimes seem to flicker when shifting into first at low RPMs? This new harness would def help with RF performance on my ham radios…

Could be, definitely wouldn't hurt, I know my starter about flips my tuck over now with the AGM NorthStar battery and this kit.

If you go AGM get a HKB voltage booster too that will also help and the AGMs need it for battery health.

    Mine just arrived yesterday.

Wait i have a walmart everstart AGM and it’s sluggish right now in the cold. I hear I need stuff and then I hear I don’t need stuff. Educate me on what I need!

Don't mix subs and different boxs. Doesn't work out well with this scenario. Alternator wise Mechman, Singer, ohio generator, DC power. Those are reputable companies. Singer would be my choice as he made mine for my Jeep back in the day. Not sure what battery you plan to use but upgrade it from factory.

First few posts of this thread can do a much better and more thorough job than I.

In layman's terms AGM's are different enough from traditional flooded wet acid batteries that they require a small bump in voltage to be happy or they will sulfate (like corrode?) And this shortens their life and diminishes their benefits.

I actually ended up getting into the big three due to thinking I had an issue with my starter that was ultimately do to a dying AGM because I didn't have booster.

You can definitely use different subs and different boxes. It works great. This is a common misconception, there is nothing wrong with mixing different subs and boxes. Mine sound amazing, lots of bass. Louder than my friends setup with 2 12s and higher power subs.

This is awesome and sorry to kinda thread-jack so I’ll hush on this quasi-related issue. Until now I thought a full alternator upgrade was necessary.

Depends on vehicle, enclosure, clean or dirty signal, lots of variables. Definitely try Singer. His customer service is top notch. Last system I had was a banger. Makes me reconsider doing it again Screenshot_20220126-152034__01.jpg Screenshot_20220126-152104__01.jpg

Well your alternator can only put out so many amps, and your wires can inly carey so much amps, the big 3 help all the amps move along but eventually you will hit the limit of what your alternator can supply even if the wires can carry more and that's when you need an alternator upgrade.

Putting a bigger alternator on stock wires you're still going to be bottlenecked by the wires (and worse case the wires can melt down getting too much juice pushed through them) that's why most guys who build high end audio systems do both at the same time but upgrading the wires first will help you get the most out of the alternator you have which *might* be enough for your needs.

You don't base the DC amperage draw based on the amplifiers output rms wattage. You base the wire size and current draw from the battery by the fuses on the amplifiers since obviously, they would blow if you drew more than allowed. Both the amps you listed are spec'd with 80A fuses, so maximum draw would 160 amps, not 270 amps. Rockford even specs that the average current draw is 40 amps for music and 80 amps when using sinewaves at 13.8 volts at the battery.
