    As long as you stick to the oem rim you'll more than likely be fine

    Can anyone with the Cooper ST Maxx in 255/85R16 comment on how well they air down? I’m concerned that with them being E load that they’ll be too stiff to air down effectively on the trail.

    The 17s air down fine. I can't imagine why the 16s also wouldn't.

    Great thread, been looking at it from time to time. I picked up a spare rim set --- stock 16" steelies and plan to put some skinnies on it for winter use. Studded Happeliittas 235/85r16.

    All this talk of 255/85r16 is making me wonder what is the tallest skinny tire I can run on a stock '11 Off-road without trimming. I do run the low ass mud flaps because I drive 12 miles of dirt and gravel roads every time I leave my house.

    This is definitely a massive thread!

    The tallest 16’s are the toyo mt

    In 17’s i think they’re the same, the bfg 34x10.5 have the same 33.5 diameter if someone wants the tallest at tire.

    I’ve run the Toyo’s 2x, currently on AT3W 255’s. Better all around. I’ve had them in 285/75r17’s and will very possibly run them again in 35’s on my incoming Mojave if I can't get my hands on the 35x11.5 Toyo AT3. These come in a 255 also!

    My apologies on the misinformation about the Toyo's, I was referencing the post quoted above but realize those were 17's and also not MT. However, my Geolandars provably weighed in at about 53 lbs.

    I am running classic Rays Power Volk 16x7 forged wheels that I procured and imported from Japan. They come in at 16lbs each. I also have another set of silver ones in 16x8 that weigh 18lbs for when I make the move to a full size tire, if ever.

    Cant remember if i posted these here already.

    So perfect. We need more, narrower wheels like that :)

    Did you physically measure the tire height of the Toyo's are are you just going off of what the manufacturer said? I've read mixed results about which tire is truly the tallest but from what I've read throughout this entire thread, the manufacturer measured heights are not accurate for the Toyo's. I'd be interested to know your exact measurements when mounted just so we can compare! The more knowledge the better.

    That is the unmounted diameter of the toyo’s. They’re all a good inch less under the rigs.

    Here is a nice pic of three popular Tacoma sizes of Toyo MT’s lined up;

    Quite a few things at this point..
    Sounds pretty average for 33s. I get around the same.
