I went for my first eye exam in more than three years; Between the mask mandates and all of the paperwork I had to fill out, I was pretty pissed off! I was aware that my longtime eye doctor had left that particular practice, but I was under the impression that the new doctor would be another dude...

I was pleasantly surprised when this beautiful woman about 35 to 40 years of age walked in; Needless to say, my anger and frustration dissipated immediately...

This woman was a hottie, a total MILF! She was also a total sweetheart as well! If she's gonna be the regular eye doctor, I might be willing to go for an exam more often and put up with all of these COVID rules! :D

My doctor, my dentist, and my therapist are all men, but I still like them anyway; My math teacher in college? She was a MILF! And unlike several male math teachers I had between elementary school and college, she actually did her job! The first math professor I had in college, this old man who'd previously had a stroke, would actually cuss at students over the most trivial things; I dropped his class after like a month, and based on my description of his antics, my parents were not pissed that I dropped out too late to get a refund and they still had to pay for the class! Man oh man, that guy was a douchebag!

I am ever so slightly considering moving to West Virginia after everything a good friend of mine who lives there has told me about it; I just have one question about exchanging a Pennsylvania driver's license (or any out-of-state driver's license for that matter)...

Did you have to take a road test when you transferred your out-of-state license? I've been on the West Virginia DMV website and it says that if your license is unexpired, you can transfer it with just a vision test and nothing more, but if it is expired for any amount of time, a skills test is required.

The friend mentioned above moved to West Virginia from Indiana at least fifteen years ago, and says that he had to take a behind the wheel road test before he was issued a West Virginia license. He does not remember the exact reason why, but we both suspect that his Indiana license was expired. He has never had to take any kind of test for subsequent renewals of his WV license.

Some states are much more loose than others about transferring a driver's license from another state than others; I presently live in Pennsylvania, and I'll use it as an example. If your driver's license is valid, or expired for six months or less, you can transfer it without having to take any sort of driving test; If it's expired for six months more, then you are treated as a new driver, and you have to get a learner's permit and do everything from scratch.

I know this from experience because a good friend of mine moved here from Nebraska and put a off getting a PA license until eventually her Nebraska license had been expired for almost a month. I actually drove her to the DMV two days before Christmas in 2014 to do the transfer; She'd actually lost her wallet, which contained her expired Nebraska license, and had to use a certified copy of her driving record to get a PA one. All she had to do was take a vision test and again, two days before Christmas, we were out of the DMV with her shiny new Pennsylvania license in a little over an hour!

That said, I'm gonna be honest...

For starters, I have a high-functioning form of autism called Aspergers Syndrome (as does my friend in WV), and statistically only 50% of Aspies ever get a driver's license. I've been pulled over a few times for incredibly minor things, but I've never lost my driving privileges or even had any points on my license.

I worked hard to get my driver's license; I earned the privilege to drive, and honestly there are several states I would very likely not move to solely because they require all new residents transferring an out-of-state license to take a knowledge test!

Why not give the WV DMV a call and see if they can give you a clear answer?

Did you have to take any kind of a test when you moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio? I seem to remember you telling me you did, but I forget...

Despite your affliction, you're an intelligent guy, so I don't think you should be put off by the notion of taking a DMV test. It's not like taking the GRE. They're generally common sense & you can cram the night before if need be. Didn't read the manual but the pertinent info may be in there.

Lot of methheads in WV so look before you leap.

Just a written test? No road test?

You're probably right; I took the road test in the Tacoma I'm still driving, back in May 2011. I failed the first time because I couldn't parallel park. Now, even with the backup camera switched off, I can parallel park like a boss! It's more being put on the spot, and if I had a choice in the matter, I'd pick a state that basically just gave me a new license no questions asked with little more than a vision test.

    States are different..

@PennSilverTaco You may not get a test again unless your driver's license gets expired by then. All they do is give you a new license with your updated home address. Then pay for a fee.

I moved from out of state to here and I didn't get a test... They got me a new license with my updated home address.. I paid a fee then I went on the road.

I see that you're in Maryland; One thing about Maryland that I'm on the fence about is that they require adults with autism to disclose this when applying for a license. It does not say on the physical license that the driver has autism, but when a cop run the license, it shows up in their computer. This is to keep things from going bad if an autistic driver doesn't react well to the situation, and I think that in this respect is a good idea. However, at the same time while I am incredibly open about the fact that I am on the autism spectrum, I don't think I should be required to disclose this when applying for a driver's license.

I have one incident where my reaction to getting pulled over was less than stellar and I am quite possibly I didn't get dragged out of my truck; It was back in 2017, and it was my first time getting pulled over in 11 years. I had been speeding (43 in a 25) and I'd had two previous encounters in the same jurisdiction where a cop aggressively tailed me for a good distance because it was fairly late and, I'm assuming, they thought I was a drunk driver; One of those times, a cop in a marked Tahoe actually rode my ass for at least a mile, and honestly if he hadn't been in marked patrol vehicle I would have brake-checked him. That's how damn close he was to me! This was after I got my first dashcam, and after sharing the footage with my parents, we all came to the conclusion that the cop was running my license plate while simultaneously trying to intimidate me in hopes that I'd jerk the wheel and the cross the yellow line purely out of nervousness; Basically, a bored suburban cop just fishing for drunks...

That was probably five or six months before the incident where I actually got pulled over on the very same stretch of road; I was a dickhead for sure, but what I did was fairly minor...

I just screamed out the window "I don't know why the hell I got pulled over!" as the cop approached my truck. This resulted in a $180 ticket for the full amount I was over the posted speed limit that I had to get a lawyer for and take to court, and the cop looking for anything else he could possibly write me up for purely out of spite; This was in May 2017, and I could actually see the look of disappointment in his eyes when he shined his flashlight on my inspection stickers, only to find that they didn't expire until October 2017...

The moral of that story is to keep your cool when dealing with the police!

I didn’t know that was a requirement in MD. Depending where you are looking WV might be better. I’d like to live in the mountains and not have an the pew pew restrictions.
