I did bounce quite a bit but now I don't anymore

 

Considering switching to Day shift in June. I'll lose my huge shift differential of $0.85...
Problem is days is crawling with supervisors, too many people so lines at the bathroom, and the break rooms are always full.

With our personnel shortage (eVeRyOnE iS sHoRt HaNdEd) it looks like they're gonna be folding our concrete crews and going to full contractor spread.

So on one hand, thatll save my back a lot of wear and tear

But on the other hand, I won't get to break as much stuff or dig as many holes (with machines)

 

Why not take a heavy machine operator job somewhere else? Or are the DoT benefits too good?

And electrician.

Since I've got 0 contacts, I've got nothing lol.

Currently have a 70% paid pension (that I don't have to contribute to), paid health insurance (pay $9/mo for dental/vision), 5 weeks pto, and 11 paid holidays.

It's not a bad gig, and it's not like they're cutting our hours because the concrete works going away. The pay is a little low for what we do but it has gotten better over the past year. And they're talking about some more raises coming up so it's not the end of the world if I can't go anywhere else

 

Suddenly got a real 'nice' headache. Can it be quitting time already?

I can basically work anywhere I’ve got internet. My boss worked from his camper for a few weeks last year in various locations around the us. Work til mid afternoon then go hike / explore / whatever
