Ridgeline!? Ugh. People who have them and enjoy them, kudos to them. But can a Ridgeline do this?

A guy I worked with bought a Ridgeline when the first came out. He asked me what I thought. I told him it looked good asked if it came in a men's?

You missed the point….it’s still a unibody crossover.

I cringe whenever I hear somebody call their trucks, “rigs”, their wheels, “rims”, and their Ridgelines, “trucks”. LoL

also, I’m not sure someone pointed this out (didn’t feel like scrolling through 7 pages):

The Tacoma was still worth more than the Ridgeline. So that would lead me to believe the Taco is the better value.

You picked one area Ridgeline beats the Tacoma handily. Ridgeline actually has a much higher payload capacity for some reason.

The Dealer gave me a Prius as a Loaner Car one day, your description of driving a Toaster or Fridge is exactly what it felt like I was driving.

Simply put, the Ridgeline is not marketed for the same group as the Tacoma.

The Honda Ridgeline can safely tow a small or mid-sized fifth-wheel trailer, although its towing power is limited. All-wheel-drive models of Honda Ridgeline have an integrated hitch that has a 7-pin connector, approximately 262-pound torque, and the capacity to pull a maximum of 2260 kilograms or 5,000 lbs.

    We'll see
Looking at every definition of "truck" yields no requirement for a body on frame platform. That's just some arbitrary rule that some people place on whether a vehicle is a truck or not. It's not true though. There have been unibody pickups as far back as 1961.

    image-placeholder-title.jpg

And at the end of the day....what can a stock Tacoma do that a stock Ridgeline can't?

I watched a guy redesign the Aztek on YouTube and it was entertaining to say the least. He did a decent job, too.

The Ridgeline's are good - especially if you enjoy the feeling on the highway of the [V-6] engine constantly alternating between 3 and 4-cylinder operation.

Some might say the Ridgeline is as much a truck as the El Camino. But offroad is a big deal, 4x4 capability in tough conditions. That pillow soft suspension...I just can't see it being able to handle rough "truck" stuff.

As a guy who is often borderline OCD about reading product reviews before I make a big decision, I can tell you that you could read ten different reviews that each score the same top ten products differently, because so much of it is subjective. It also depends on how the writer of the review prioritizes his or her concept of need, or who has paid that person for the review.

At the end of the day what matters is your individual needs and priorities, and your evaluation of how a potential vehicle fits them through your own research and a test drive.

    |That makes entirely too much sense! Many people follow this criteria but there are a lot who purchase vehicles based on the image they want to project.

The Ridgeline looks like a tall car with the trunk lid hacked off. I'm sure its a great vehicle that has tons of fans. But in my mind it looks dorky.

It may beat my Tacoma spec for spec, but it's still wearing socks with sandals.
