Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    This:
    and then this:
    Want to improve MPGs?
Evaluate your truck weight, wind resistance, and most important of all - your driving habits.
If you handle the skinny pedal the way my wife does, you'll always get crappy MPGs (down-up-down-up-repeat).
Double cab long bed is probably the heaviest Taco version.

If a positive confirmation from the many minds of Tacoma World provides you all the info you need to convince your spouse that these mods are necessary to improve MPG, then I say "absolutely".

    Otherwise....no.

The max mpg gains you'll see is with a tune. Even then, you won't gain more than a couple at best (still depending on your driving habbits). Best just to accept you're never gonna have great MPGs, but rather smiles per gallon. And if you can't accept that, sell the truck and get a vehicle intended for commuting.

The way you drive affects your mpg the most. You can try hypermiling just be sure to use the safer techniques and your own judgement. If you don't have the chin spoiler you can always add that for a tiny bit of help. I'm sure they are easy to find as everyone takes them off.

7 Hypermiling Tips to Help Improve Your Fuel Economy
    • Keep idling at a minimum. ...
    • Drive smoothly. ...
    • Use a monitoring device. ...
    • Check tire pressure at least monthly. ...
    • Don't carry unnecessary weight. ...
    • Use the air conditioner sparingly. ...
    • Stay close to 60 miles per hour on the highway.

    Oh look, another mod....
Nothing will help improve the MPG's. It's a fucking Tacoma. If you wanted better MPG's you should have bought a Corolla Hybrid.

The only thing that will help MPG's, is not driving your truck. :D

Well, your profile shows you have the coveted

Vehicle: 2017 tocoma 4door log bed

If the log bed model comes with the factory CAI like every other model, you have that covered already!

Of course your profile also shows you are a female named Robert. So there may be typos to consider here..........

CAI and HFM are just a gimmick for sound, nothing more. You would have to pipe the whole thing from the headers at the same diameter for any flow performance. Any cat back or axle back is just sound

I have a TRD CAI, and TRD exhaust. Can't say there's any gain in MPG, but the sounds are satisfying. Punch it and the CAI gives a solid vacuum sound, and the TRD exhaust reports a cool rumble. Plus when you pop the hood that red accented set up looks cool. Worth it to me, others might say nope, not worth it. Your truck, your cash.
